Here, the process of a soft landing was divided into two stages including a stage of airbag compression suchion and a stage of contact between a cargo and ground. In the first stage, based on the energy conservation principle and thermodynamic equations, an analysis model for the airbag attenuation system was established, then its attenuation properties were analyzed, and the cargo's velocity and attitude before contacting the ground were calculated. In the second stage, based on the theory of rigid-body dynamics and contact dynamics, an impact model between the ground and the cargo with horizontal initial velocity was built, the cargo's velocity and rotation angles after impacting were calculated. A typical example was used to calculated and analyze the stability of a soft landing system for heavy cargo airdrop. The results were compared with those of tests, it was shown that the proposed method is feasible. ©, 2015, Chinese Vibration Engineering Society. All right reserved.
