Probabilistic load flow calculation is an important tool to analyze the operating state of active distribution network. There are strong correlations among load characteristics, climatic conditions and other multiple variables of distribution network nodes, aimed at which the calculation method of node injected power correlation is proposed. Node injected power is decoupled with the Cholesky decomposition, converting the distribution network probabilistic load flow calculation to the calculation with uncorrelated input random variables. Hence probabilistic load flow calculation method considering nodes correlation of active distribution network is formed. The effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed method is proven by the comparative tests in the part of modified IEEE 33-bus distribution network. The impacts of nodes correlation on load flow probabilistic distribution are investigated by the proposed method. ©, 2015, Journal of Information and Computational Science. All right reserved. Load and power forecasting is a key link in the distribution network planning as well as the computing basis of substation and grid planning. Considering the factors such as new-type loads and distributed generation resources, a probabilistic load and power forecasting method which is applicable to active distribution system was proposed. Firstly, on the basis of analyzing the load classification in active distribution network, a whole load forecasting method with friendly loads was proposed. Then the forecasting model of capacity and distribution of distributed generation was built, and the forecasting method of distributed generation credible power supply was proposed considering the probability of distributed power. Finally, the effect of new-type loads and distributed generation resources on active distribution network planning was analyzed, based on the load and power forecasting results. ©2014 Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering.
