In order to obtain the most effective extraction process of curcuminoids, ultrasonic extraction, microwave-assisted extraction and reflux extraction are studied. On the basis of the single factor experiments, the three extraction methods are optimized by central composite design-response surface methodology respectively, taking ultrasonic extraction as an example. The results indicate that the yield of curcuminoids under three conditions are 37.39, 36.38 and 38.80 mg/g (per gram of rhizomes powder), respectively. By comprehensive comparison, ultrasonic extraction is found to be timesaving, efficient and handiness which may be utilized for industrial production. ©, 2015, Xiandai Huagong/Modern Chemical Industry.
