This paper presents a method for scratch recognition on digital battery materials. First, scratch feature vector is extracted using space information. Secondly, a Fast Elliptical Basis Function Neural Network (FEBFNN) is designed. The structure of FEBFNN consists of three layers like EBF but the structure is exible and can be adjusted during the training process. Finally, FEBFNN is trained and tested by five-fold cross-validation on 200 battery images. Experiments have shown the proposed algorithm has achieved the average accuracy of 91% and average recognition time of 0.09 s. It works better in terms of computing time and accuracy comparing to Bruni Vittoria and Kyung-tai Kim. © 2012 Binary Information Press January 2012.

In this paper, application of coordinate measuring machine(CMM) in reverse engineering(RE) of product was introduced. Reverse engineering had become a viable method to create a digital model of an existing physical part and to duplicate it. The reverse engineering process involves measuring an object, reconstructing its point cloud as a digital model and rapidly machining it. Application of obtaining point cloud using CMM was presented in reconstructing the digital model of a shoes tree. Rapid duplicate of a severely worn cam of textile machinery was realized by contact measuring profile points using CMM. Reconstructing the digital model and locally modifying the computer model in computer aided design (CAD) software. Finally, numerical control program was finished in computer aided manufacturing (CAM) software. Automatic measurement close freeform curve function of CMM decreased the workload of picking up data of cam profile. Experimental results showed using CMM can greatly save time and alleviate intension of labour.

The electromyography (EMG) signal can be considered as a manifestation of the muscle activity. An artificial neural network to predict the elbow joint angle using SEMG signals was developed in this paper. SEMG was collected from biceps and triceps and analyzed in statistic characteristics. A three-layer BP neural network was constructed and then was trained by improved back propagation algorism to predict the elbow joint angle by using the RMS of the raw SEMG signal. The experimental results show that this neural network model can well represent the relationship between SEMG signals and elbow joint angles. © 2011 IEEE.

Self-lubricating Ni+h-BN coatings were prepared by CO 2 laser cladding with powder mixtures of Ni60 and h-BN. The chemical compositions and microstructures of the coatings were analyzed using SEM and XRD. The microhardness of the coatings was measured on a microhardness tester. It was found that the morphology of CrB was changed from irregular block-like shape (in Ni60+5%h-BN coating) ?short-plate structure (in Ni60+10%h-BN coating) ?dendritic-plate structure(in Ni60+15%h-BN coating) with increasing the content of h-BN. The microhardness of the 5,10 and 15% h-BN coatings ranged from 650 800HV 0.02 800 1010HV 0.02and 1000 1200HV 0.02 which was higher than that of Ni60 coating and substrate. © (2011) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Self-lubricating h-BN/Ni coating was prepared on a medium carbon steel substrate by CO 2 laser cladding using a powder mixture of NiCrBSi+5%h-BN(wt.%). Microstructures and phasestructure of the coating were analyzed using SEM, EDS and XRD. Wear tests were carried out using a M100 pin-on-ring wear tester. The results show that h-BN/Ni coating has much superior war resistance and noticeably lower fiction coefficient under dry sliding wear test conditions. © (2011) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Self-lubricating MoS2/Ni coating was prepared on a medium carbon steel substrate by CO2 laser cladding using powder mixture of Ni60+50% (wt.%) Ni-coated MoS2. The chemical compositions and microstructures of the coatings were analyzed using SEM, EDS and XRD. Microhardness was measured on a microhardness tester. The friction coefficient and wear properties were investigated using on a pin-on-ring wear tester. The results show that, during laser cladding process, MoS2 decomposes to generate some new lubricants such as CrxS1+x and FexS1+x. Most spherical blocks CrxS1+x exist in the upper section, while white dots FexS1+x disperse continuously on γ-Ni grain boundary from top to bottom of coating. The coating has a homogeneous microhardness distribution, which is higher than that of the substrate. The friction coefficient of the coating was reduced to 0.09∼0.22 in air. The coating wear mass and wear volume was 33.3% and 2.2% of the substrate, respectively. © 2011 IEEE.

In this paper, we investigate a detection algorithm for foreign fiber during the processing of cotton textile. By collecting a large number of samples, we determine the color model and establish its characteristic parameters of a foreign fiber. We found foreign fibers of multiple types (classes) and proposed a classification–recognition algorithm based on clustering analysis. The maximum error of the studied recognition algorithm is 0.012, which meets the requirement to recognize foreign fibers. Through many experiments, the optimal parameters for the foreign fiber detection system were determined, and the fiber recognition rates for different types were obtained. The lowest recognition rate is 85%. This is sufficiently high to reject foreign fibers and reach the standards of the textile industry. Experimental results show that foreign fiber clustering analysis algorithm is feasible, and it not only improves the quality of foreign fiber detection significantly, but also has high theoretical value and practical value. © 2016 The Textile Institute

In this paper raw cotton foreign fibers on line detecting and clearing system is designed by using CCD vision sensor, and it achieves the online detection and removal of foreign fibers of raw cotton before the cotton opening and cleaning process, and the model machine is produced. Through experimental verification, the model machine works well, and detection rate of small foreign fiber is up to more than 90%. © 2012 IEEE.

This paper designs a set of jacquard and dobby shedding device, it specially suitable for 30 layers carbon fiber weaving equipment, which meet the requirement of the special shed. Through to the main drive system design of the jacquard, the structural design and the kinematics analysis of tandem cylinder dobby shedding mechanism, so that the design reasonable. The experiments show that the opening device can well ensure the shedding action orderly, continuously and the shed clear, it can meet the requirements. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

For the purpose of control warp tension of rapier loom and prevent negative impacts on the quality of the fabric by reasons of the excessive fluctuation. This paper took let-off system of SAURER400 rapier loom as investigated subject and laid out the application of fuzzy-PID and multi-neuron adaptive PID control method. This paper gone through with a simulation by use of Simulink of the Matlab and took the simulation results compared with the simulation curve of multi-neuron adaptive PID and fuzzy-PID. The results show that the simulation curve of multi-neuron adaptive PID control algorithm was fast response and small overshoot. © 2010 IEEE.
