In order to determine optimal packing methods for Pleurotus nebrodensis, the effects of packages including different thickness polyethylene (PE) film, micro-perforated film, vacuum packaging with PE film, PE film flushed with nitrogen on the quality of Pleurotus nebrodensis stored at 0°C were investigated. Compared with other packaging methods, 0.035 mm PE film flushed with nitrogen was better for the quality of Pleurotus nebrodensis during cold storage, which got a higher score of sensory evaluation, and obviously reduced the activities of PPO, POD and the browing degree, delayed the aging process and membrane lipid peroxidation during storage. Meanwhile, compared with conventional PE film packaging, 0.035 mm PE film flushed with nitrogen could extend storage time by 10-15 days. The results can provide a theoretical basis for cold storage of Pleurotus nebrodensis.

This paper discusses the shortcomings of catastrophe theory evaluation method and presents an improvement over it by using a fitting function of base indicator membership degree versus comprehensive evaluation value. With this improved method, comprehensive evaluation value can be transformed to another value of more obvious meaning of good or bad. Its structure and parameters is discussed, and its calculation procedure is given. It was verified by recalculations and improvements of the published results, showing its effectiveness and rationality. Application to water-saving society evaluation for Tianjin shows that it can produce a better distribution of evaluation value and overcome the shortcomings, and that its results agree with the actual progress in water-saving of Tianjin. © right.

The microstructure and HPLC spectrum of Radix Isatis and Rhizoma et Radix Baphicacanthis cusae were studied. With the digital microscopy and HPLC, the microstructure and HPLC spectrum of commercially available Radix Isatis and Rhizoma et radix Baphicacanthis cusae from different sources were compared and analyzed. Compared Radix Isatis with Rhizoma et radix Baphicacanthis cusae from different sources, the results showed that the reticulated vessels, compound and single starch granules and stone cell were found in Radix Isatis, but there were the pitted vessels, parenchyma cells where there were small pits, single starch granules and cystolith in Rhizoma et radix Baphicacanthis cusae. Compared the similarity of HPLC spectrum, the results revealed that there were obvious differences between the microstructure and characteristic HPLC spectrum of Radix Isatis and Rhizome et radix Baphicacanthis cusae. The characteristic of the microstructure and HPLC spectrum of Radix Isatis and Rhizoma et radix Baphicacanthis cusae that was established in the study could be applied into the quality evaluation for these two medicines, at the same time provide a scientific basis and guarantee of methodology for quality specification. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

A multi-principle evaluation index system for flood risk was suggested, according to characteristics of flood hazard in detention basin, in view of the system theory. The fundamentals and method of catastrophe theory were introduced, this system and fuzzy assessme were applied to evaluation of flood risk in Dahuangpuwa of Haihe River Basin. Results derived from the two methods are consistent, and they are in accordance with the actual situa- ' tion. The proposed method is easy of calculation and is not necessary to determine the weights of evaluation indices so that the influence of subjective factors on assessment can be minimized. This paper offers a new way for comprehensive evaluation of the flood risk.

Reasonable exploitation of flood in detention basins is one of important way to utilize water resources. Taking Dahuangpu detention basin in Tianjin City as an example, the concept and calculation method for relative risk of flood were presented. Then the risk and relative risk, loss, economic and ecological benefit were calculated for seven utilization scenarions. The results show that relative risk is more visual and easier for decision-maker' s estimation to make out strategy timely, and both the detention water quantity and submerged area have an influence on loss and benefit simultaneously. At last, the reasonable scenario is selected through combining the results of risk, loss and benefit.

A bacterial strain (AD4), capable of utiliaing atrazine as a sole nitrogen source for growth was isolated from industrial wastewater by enrichment culture. By Rep-PCR analysis revealed that strain AD4 was different with ADP and TC1, which are the model atrazine-degrading strain. The capable of removing atrazine of AD4 was greater than ADP and TC1. AD4 strain offered a great potential in the bioremediation of polluted environments.
