Communities (towns and municipalities) are important stakeholders and partners within the realization process of the European flood risk management directive. To assist the municipalities of Thuringia in these tasks and support them in finding suitable own measures, a guide for the present and future task of flood risk management has been developed. In this guide, flood risk management and the specific tasks of the communities as well as flood risk areas and contents of flood hazard and flood risk maps are described. It also includes an evaluation of the current status of flood risk management and a description of the potential measures for the improvement of flood risk management. Source

Within the scope of implementation the European Flood Risk Management Directive methodology and first results are presented from the pilot activity Weiße Elster River. The aim of the activity is the harmonisation concerning preliminary flood risk assessment, standard hazard and risk maps and one Flood Risk Management Plan for the entire basin. This pilot activity is a part of the project LABEL and partially financed by the EU funding programme INTERREG IV B central. The cooperation consists of partners of the German federal states of Saxony, Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt. Source

Summary: Control with Remote Sensing (CwRS) is the preferred technique used for legally required sample checks of EU direct payments in agriculture. Based on the adjustment of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) from 2014 onwards the currently negotiated conditions are discussed under the question of technically feasible CwRS. For the most part these conditions could be checked by remote sensing in the future. The greening conditions of crop diversification, maintenance of permanent pastures and ecological focus areas are not far beyond the current requirements of the application. © 2013 E.
