Limited by their dynamic characteristics, piezoelectric pressure sensors usually can not meet the test requirements of the shock wave pressure in the zone near explosive and signal distortion will occur. The dynamic characteristics of piezoelectric pressure sensors were investigated through shock tube calibration experiments. Digital compensation filters based on dynamic compensation technique were designed to eliminate the dynamic measurement error caused by the narrow working band and the low natural frequency of the sensors. The results of comparative tests and numerical computations validate that the proposed method can effectively reduce the dynamic measurement error and enhance the pressure measurement accuracy. © 2016, Chinese Vibration Engineering Society.
