An open roof construction for a vehicle having an opening (1) in the fixed roof (2) comprising at least one guide rail (5) on a side of the roof opening. A closure element (4) is supported by an operating mechanism and adjustable between a closed position, in which it closes the roof opening by means of a seal (6) between the closure element (4) and a stationary part (3), and an open position. The operating mechanism comprises a driving slide (10), slidably guided in the guide rail (5), a front support (16) attached to the closure element and guided by the guide rail, a support member (11) which is slidably connected to the closure element, and a curve part (9) on the stationary part including a guide track (8) having a vertical component and extending rearwardly beyond a rear edge of the roof opening (1). The support member (11) is in engagement with the guide track (8), and the driving slide (10) is adapted to drive the support member (11) at least along part of the path of movement of the closure element (4) by means of a connecting element (13). The guide rail (5), driving slide (10), connecting element (13), support member (11) and curve part (9) on the stationary part (3) are positioned outside the seal (6) between the closure element (4) and the stationary part (3). The connecting element (13) is connected to the driving slide (10) and support member (11) in a manner such that it is movable at least partly in substantially vertical direction with respect to the guide rail (5).


An open roof construction for a vehicle comprises a rollo assembly (4) positioned below a roof opening and intended for covering the roof opening (1). The rollo assembly (4) comprises a rollo screen (5) and a winding shaft (6) for the rollo screen which is rotatable around a stationary axis of rotation (7). The rollo screen (5), starting from the winding shaft (6), firstly extends in a first direction (D1), next around a reversal member (8) and finally back in an opposite second direction (D2) and ends at a rollo screen edge (9) which is attached to a stationary member (10). The reversal member (8) is movable in parallel to said first and second directions (D1,D2) in correspondence with the amount of rollo screen (5) being wound on or off said winding shaft (6). The rollo screen has two longitudinal edges which, when the rollo screen is wound off, are brought into engagement with holding members extending alongside the longitudinal edges of the roof opening. The holding members each comprise a least a holding groove (16) having a narrow entrance (17). The longitudinal edges (11) of the rollo screen (5) each comprise a hooking member (25) which is insertable into the holding groove and hook behind the narrow entrance thereof. The reversal member (8) is provided with displacing means (22) acting on at least one of the hooking member and holding groove to enable the hooking member to enter and exit the holding groove.


A rollo assembly intended for use in an open roof construction for a vehicle comprises a rollo screen having opposite forward and rearward sides and two opposite lateral sides, a winding tube for winding and unwinding the rollo screen at the rearward side, an operating beam connected to the forward side and having two outer ends, and two longitudinally extending guides for guiding respective ones of the outer ends of the operating beam and respective ones of the lateral sides of the rollo screen. Said lateral sides are provided with retention members cooperating with corresponding parts of the guides for retaining said lateral sides in said guides. The rollo screen is provided with light transmitting and emitting members which have an end portion extending at least up to a first one of the lateral sides of the rollo screen and wherein at least the guide intended for guiding said first one of the lateral sides is provided with at least one elongate light bar extending longitudinally along said guide in such a position that it can transmit light into said end portion of the light transmitting and emitting members.

An open roof construction for vehicle with a roof opening (1) in a fixed roof part (2) comprises a first moveable panel (3) and a second panel (4) for at least closing a portion of the roof opening. The first and second panel and/or a stationary part is provided with sealing means to seal side edges of the first and second panels with respect to the fixed roof part. The first panel has an operating mechanism (7) guided in a guide rail (5) extending along the longitudinal side of the roof opening. The operating mechanism includes a rear support member (10) attached to the first panel. The rear support member is movable to an extent that it partly moves alongside the second panel (4) when the first panel (3) moves above the second panel. The sealing means of the second panel and/or of the fixed roof part are such that the rear support member is enabled to pass between the second panel and the fixed roof part. The sealing means (16) for the second panel is attached to a holding member (15) such that at the front of the second panel (4) it extends, in lateral sense, more inwardly than the sealing means (13) of the first panel (3) at the rear thereof when in the closed position, the rear support member (10) passing between the sealing means (16) on the holding member (15) and the second panel (4).

An open roof construction for a vehicle having a roof opening in a fixed roof part, comprises a first panel and a second panel for at least closing first and second portions of the roof opening. The first panel is movably supported by an operating mechanism guided in a guide rail. A rear support member partly moves alongside the second panel when the first panel moves above the second panel. The seal of the second panel and/or of the fixed roof part being such that the rear support member is enabled to pass between the second panel and the fixed roof part. The seal for the second panel extends, in lateral sense, more inwardly than the seal of the first panel at the rear thereof when in the closed position, the rear support member passing between the seal on the holding member and the second panel.

A rollo assembly intended for use in an open roof construction for a vehicle, comprises a rotatable winding shaft, a rollo screen of which a rear end can be wound on or off said winding shaft and of which an opposite forward end is provided with an operating beam, and opposite guide channels for in a longitudinal direction guiding opposite side edges of the rollo screen and opposite ends of the operating beam. Each of the guide channels is divided into a removable first guide channel part closest to the winding shaft and a second guide channel part further away from the winding shaft, wherein aligning means are provided for, in an assembled position of the rollo assembly, aligning respective ones of the first and second guide channel parts.

An open roof construction for a vehicle having an opening (1) in the fixed roof (2), comprises at least one guide rail (7) on a side of the roof opening. A closure element (4) is supported by an operating mechanism and adjustable between a closed position, in which it closes the roof opening, and an open position in which the panel is moved rearwardly above a roof portion behind the roof opening. The operating mechanism comprises a driving slide (8), slidably guided in the guide rail (7), a front support (23) attached to the closure element and guided by the guide rail, a support lever (9) having a front end and a rear end and which is slidably connected to a panel track (15) of the closure element by means of a rear sliding member (14) at the rear end of the support lever, and a curve part (16) on the stationary part including a rear guide track (12) having a vertical component. The support lever (9) is in engagement with said rear guide track (12) by means of a middle sliding member (13). The driving slide (8) is adapted to drive the support lever (9) at least along part of path of movement of the closure element (4) between the open and closed positions. The support lever (9) is constructed such that, in the open position of the closure element (4), the rear sliding member (14) at the rear end of the support lever (9) extends above the fixed roof (2) behind the roof opening (1).

An open roof construction for a vehicle having a roof opening (2) in its fixed roof (1) comprises a transparent movable panel (3) and a sunshade assembly (7) including a winding mechanism 9, 13) and a screen (10) which is stretched in a non-linear shape in transverse direction during use. The winding mechanism comprises a winding tube (9) connected to the attached edge of the screen and which is rotatable about an axis of rotation (13) for winding and unwinding said screen between an extended position screening said roof opening and a retracted position releasing said roof opening. A transverse guide (14) extends in transverse direction and is disposed between the beam and the winding tube. The transverse guide is curved in transverse direction to form the screen in a non-linear shape between the guide and the beam. In one aspect, the transverse guide guides at least a part of both the upper and lower surfaces of the screen in order to urge the screen into a partly convex and partly concave shape. According to another aspect, at least one longitudinal guide (16) for the screen extends between the transverse guide and a stationary part (4) on the opposite side of the roof opening and adapted to guide the screen from below.

A wind deflector assembly comprises a wind deflector member (8) which extends in a transverse direction of the vehicle and which comprises a spoiler part (9) and a mesh part (10) of which one is positioned on top of the other and which are slidable relative to each other in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle between an overlapping position in the retracted position of the wind deflector member and a staggered position in the extended position. One of the spoiler part (9) and mesh part (10) at a forward end through a first pivot (16) is pivotably connected to the vehicle whereas the other of the spoiler part and mesh part at a rearward end is hingeably connected (21) to a first end of at least one pivotable wind deflector arm (22) of which an opposite second end through a second pivot (23) is pivotably connected to the vehicle.
