An open roof construction for a vehicle having a roof opening in a fixed roof part, comprises a first panel and a second panel for at least closing first and second portions of the roof opening. The first panel is movably supported by an operating mechanism guided in a guide rail. A rear support member partly moves alongside the second panel when the first panel moves above the second panel. The seal of the second panel and/or of the fixed roof part being such that the rear support member is enabled to pass between the second panel and the fixed roof part. The seal for the second panel extends, in lateral sense, more inwardly than the seal of the first panel at the rear thereof when in the closed position, the rear support member passing between the seal on the holding member and the second panel.


A rollo assembly for use in a vehicle comprises a rollo screen having opposite forward and rearward sides and two opposite lateral sides, a winding tube for the rollo screen at the rearward side, an operating beam connected to the forward side and having two outer ends, and two longitudinally extending guides for guiding respective ones of the outer ends of the operating beam and respective ones of the lateral sides of the rollo screen. Said lateral sides are provided with retention members cooperating with corresponding parts of the guides for retaining said lateral sides in said guides. The rollo screen is provided with light transmitting and emitting members which have an end portion extending at least up to a first one of the lateral sides of the rollo screen. At least one elongate light bar extends longitudinally along said guide to transmit light into said end portion.

An open roof construction for vehicle with a roof opening (1) in a fixed roof part (2) comprises a first moveable panel (3) and a second panel (4) for at least closing a portion of the roof opening. The first and second panel and/or a stationary part is provided with sealing means to seal side edges of the first and second panels with respect to the fixed roof part. The first panel has an operating mechanism (7) guided in a guide rail (5) extending along the longitudinal side of the roof opening. The operating mechanism includes a rear support member (10) attached to the first panel. The rear support member is movable to an extent that it partly moves alongside the second panel (4) when the first panel (3) moves above the second panel. The sealing means of the second panel and/or of the fixed roof part are such that the rear support member is enabled to pass between the second panel and the fixed roof part. The sealing means (16) for the second panel is attached to a holding member (15) such that at the front of the second panel (4) it extends, in lateral sense, more inwardly than the sealing means (13) of the first panel (3) at the rear thereof when in the closed position, the rear support member (10) passing between the sealing means (16) on the holding member (15) and the second panel (4).


A rollo assembly intended for use in an open roof construction for a vehicle comprises a rollo screen having opposite forward and rearward sides and two opposite lateral sides, a winding tube for winding and unwinding the rollo screen at the rearward side, an operating beam connected to the forward side and having two outer ends, and two longitudinally extending guides for guiding respective ones of the outer ends of the operating beam and respective ones of the lateral sides of the rollo screen. Said lateral sides are provided with retention members cooperating with corresponding parts of the guides for retaining said lateral sides in said guides. The rollo screen is provided with light transmitting and emitting members which have an end portion extending at least up to a first one of the lateral sides of the rollo screen and wherein at least the guide intended for guiding said first one of the lateral sides is provided with at least one elongate light bar extending longitudinally along said guide in such a position that it can transmit light into said end portion of the light transmitting and emitting members.


An open roof construction for a vehicle comprises a rollo assembly (4) positioned below a roof opening and intended for covering the roof opening (1). The rollo assembly (4) comprises a rollo screen (5) and a winding shaft (6) for the rollo screen which is rotatable around a stationary axis of rotation (7). The rollo screen (5), starting from the winding shaft (6), firstly extends in a first direction (D1), next around a reversal member (8) and finally back in an opposite second direction (D2) and ends at a rollo screen edge (9) which is attached to a stationary member (10). The reversal member (8) is movable in parallel to said first and second directions (D1,D2) in correspondence with the amount of rollo screen (5) being wound on or off said winding shaft (6). The rollo screen has two longitudinal edges which, when the rollo screen is wound off, are brought into engagement with holding members extending alongside the longitudinal edges of the roof opening. The holding members each comprise a least a holding groove (16) having a narrow entrance (17). The longitudinal edges (11) of the rollo screen (5) each comprise a hooking member (25) which is insertable into the holding groove and hook behind the narrow entrance thereof. The reversal member (8) is provided with displacing means (22) acting on at least one of the hooking member and holding groove to enable the hooking member to enter and exit the holding groove.


A sunshade assembly comprises a flexible sunscreen and two opposed longitudinal guides for guiding longitudinal edges of the sunscreen. A rotatable winding shaft is configured for winding and unwinding the sunscreen. An operating beam is connected to the opposite transversal edge of the sunscreen. Two drive cables are connected to opposite ends of the operating beam. Two positioning members are movable with the operating beam, wherein each positioning member extends into a corresponding one of said opposed longitudinal guides. Each of the opposed longitudinal edges of the sunscreen near the opposite transversal edge is provided with a wing folded inwards in a direction away from the respective positioning member, so that the wing and the positioning members are on opposite sides of the sunscreen. Each wing is made accessible to the respective positioning member from the opposite side of the flexible sunscreen in order to engage it.

A guide is presented intended for use in a sunshade assembly of the type comprising a flexible sunscreen having opposed longitudinal edges and two opposed longitudinal guides each comprising at least two spaced guide legs for defining there between a guide channel for receiving therein and guiding corresponding ones of the opposed longitudinal edges of the sunscreen. The guides and longitudinal edges are provided with cooperating guide locking members and edge locking members for preventing the longitudinal edges of the sunscreen from moving out of the guide channels. The guide locking members are defined on separate parts engaging the guides.


A method of assembling a roof assembly for a vehicle comprises the steps of providing a first frame part (1) having a drive element guide (7), providing a second frame part (8) having a drive element guide (8) and providing a drive element (6) adapted to drive a movable part (4) of the roof assembly and being driven by a drive motor (5). The first and second frame parts (1, 2) are mounted to each other such that the drive element (6) extends from the drive element guide (7) of the first frame part (1) to the drive element guide (8) of the second frame part (2). The drive element (6) is provided as a first drive element portion (6a) and a second drive element portion (6b). The first drive element portion is pre-mounted in the drive element guide (7) of the first frame part (1). The second drive element portion (6b) is pre-mounted in the drive element guide (8) of the second frame part (2). The first and second drive element portions (6a, 6b) are coupled to each other when the first and second frame parts (1, 2) have been mounted to each other.

A flexible sunscreen (4) is provided intended for use in a sunshade assembly of the type comprising a flexible sunscreen (4) having a central part (4) and two opposed inwardly folded longitudinal edges (4) connected to the central part by means of folding lines (13), and two opposed longitudinal guides (6,7) for receiving therein and guiding corresponding ones of the inwardly folded longitudinal edges (4) of the flexible sunscreen (4), which guides are provided with locking members (14) for engaging an outer end (17) of the inwardly folded longitudinal edges for preventing these edges from moving out of the longitudinal guides. The central part (4) of the flexible sunscreen (4) mainly is manufactured from a first material with a first stiffness wherein of the inwardly folded longitudinal edges (4) and of the parts of the central part (4) adjacent the edges (4) at least part is made of a second material with a second higher stiffness.


An open roof construction for a vehicle comprises a rollo assembly. The rollo assembly comprises a rollo screen and a winding shaft for the rollo screen which is rotatable around a stationary axis of rotation. The rollo screen firstly extends in a first direction, next around a reversal member and finally back in an opposite second direction and ends at a rollo screen edge which is attached to a stationary member. The rollo screen has two longitudinal edges which, when the rollo screen is wound off, are brought into engagement with holding members. The longitudinal edges of the rollo screen each comprise a hooking member insertable into a holding groove and hook behind a narrow entrance thereof. A reversal member is provided with a device acting on at least one of the hooking member and holding groove to enable the hooking member to enter and exit the holding groove
