To investigate the effect of miR-181a on the sensitivity of A549/DDP cells to cisplatin and its mechanism. A549/DDP cells were transfected with miR-181a mimic. The cell growth was detected by MTT method. The expression of microRNA-181a was measured by fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction. Bcl-2 protein level was determined by Western blotting. The apoptosis of cells was measured by Annexin V/PI methods. miR-181a significantly enhanced the sensitivity of A549/DDP cells to cisplatin and the apoptosis induced by cisplatin. After transfected with microRNA-181a mimic, Bcl-2 protein level decreased in A549/DDP cells. MicroRNA-181a can enhance the sensitivity of A549/DDP cells to cisplatin, which may be associated with down-regulation of Bcl-2 expression.
