Bileti area is located in southwest Tianshan Mountains. Based on 1:50000 high precision magnetic survey data obtained in this area, the authors extracted the fault structure information from the magnetic anomalies within this area for recognition research by using analytic continuation, directional derivative and other techniques. In combination with physical parameters statistics, the authors analyzed the factors responsible for the formation of magnetic anomalies. The regional magnetic anomalies were comparatively studied by means of upward continuation and first derivative and, as a result, four characteristic anomalies A1~A4 were delineated. Four faults were identified, which were FW1 to FW4, with FW1 and FW2 corresponding to Kalatik fault and its secondary faults, FW3 being strong schistosity zone formed by dynamic action and FW4 being a concealed fault. The results obtained by the authors demonstrate that high precision magnetic survey can effectively recognize faults and reflect their distribution in this area.

As there exists the problem of inefficiency and low precision caused by manual processing in the traditional processing of map face data in digital geological survey, the authors put forward the train of thought and method for automatic processing of map face data, and gave the appropriate processing framework. On such a basis, the DLiner software was developed. The operation of this software is simple. It can automatically process the routing PRB and digital factual datum map, and has some interactive error-checking capabilities. It can effectively avoid problems in the digital geological survey such as lower accuracy in operating the map face and some hidden errors. With the DLiner processing, the map face is beautiful and can reasonably reflect the geological phenomena, thus greatly improving the efficiency and reducing labor intensity. The software is well compatible with Mapgis and DGSS software.

Using the microfacies analysis method, the authors studied microfacies types and depositional environment of carbonate rocks during Late Carboniferous-Early Permian Karaqi Formation and Kangkelin Formation from Akqi, Xinjiang. The two stratigraphic units have many differences in rock textures, granular components and fossil assemblages. The Karaqi Formation sediments have finer granularity, higher content of argillaceous materials and less bioclast matter, and can be divided into five microfacies types and five secondary microfacies types. The sediments of Kangkelin Formation have abundant organic species, complete individuals and lower content of argillaceous materials, and its grains contain lots of oolites, oncolites etc. This formation can be divided into six microfacies and eight secondary microfacies. According to the field sedimentary structure and assemblage characteristics of microfacies types, Karaqi Formation carbonate rocks are considered to have been mainly formed in basin margin and platform slope, followed by platform margin shoal and open platform, suggesting a deep water environment. The Kangkelin Formation carbonate rocks were mainly formed in platform margin shoal, open platform and restricted platform, implying a relatively shallow sedimentary environment.

Karaqi area lies in the contact part between Southwest Tianshan Mountains and Tarim Basin in Xinjiang and belongs to the edge area of airborne magnetic survey, where no ground geophysical survey has been conducted. Based on high-accuracy ground magnetic survey, the authors divided the area into six regional magnetic anomaly zones and delineated three second-order high magnetic anomalies and 1 local high magnetic anomaly. The regional magnetic anomalies might result from the basic intrusive rock and the basement, the secondary high magnetic anomalies are probably caused by the structure, and the local anomaly results probably from the ore body. The results obtained by the authors provide valuable reference for geological study and prospecting for magnetic mineral resources.

With the inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry, the HF-HNO3-HClO4-H3PO4 dissolving samples were employed to determine B in carbonate formations. The method lies in adding an appropriate amount of H3PO4 in the sample dissolution system to avoid the loss of the volatile elements B and testing the optimum amount of H3PO4. The accuracy and precision of the method are demonstrated by analyzing the National Standard Reference Materials, and it is proved that the precision (RSD) is less than 6.44%, and the RE (ΔlgC) is less than 0.087. The method can also determine such elements as Be, Ba, Cr, Cu, Co, Ni, Pb, Mo, V, Mn, Li, Zn and Ga at the same time. The method can determine B and various other elements in soil, rock and stream sedi-ment samples. The method was used to determine B, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Pb and Ba in carbonate formation of Karaqi area in southeast Tianshan Mountains, and its geological significance was discussed in this paper.

The analytical method matching scheme of 19 elements in geochemical samples in Karaqi area of Southwest Tianshan Mountains was optimized by changing the sample dissolving method, improving the analytical method and considering the characteristics of the sample. The quality management system comprising man, machine, material, method, measurement and surroundings was established and improved. The laboratory information management system consisting of seven modules (LIMS) responsible for the quality management information and standardization was also developed and constructed. The scientific and perfect 1:50000 regional geological and mineral survey sample quality monitoring system was constructed by internal and external controlling methods for accuracy, precision, repeatability test, abnormal point and external monitoring. By adopting various means, establishing foundation of information courses and utilizing advanced monitoring system graphic display, the authors have supplied accurate geological-geochemical information for geochemical prospecting and basic research in Karaqi area of Southwest Tianshan Mountains.

Yueyashan ophiolite is located in the Hongliuhe-Xichangjing ophiolite belt in the eastern part of Yueyashan area. Yueyashan ophiolite suite is exposed fairly completely, consisting in upward succession of ultrabasic complex, gabbro, layered basalt and pillow basalt as well as radiolarian siliceous rocks. Petrological, petrochemical and geochemical data show that the main unit in the ophiolite suite originated from mantle source and it is very similar to the modern oceanic crust ophiolite. The plagioclase granite associated with ophiolite unit belongs to mantle type oceanic plagioclase granite; in addition, it is a part of the ophiolite. Gabbro and basalt were both formed in a normal mid-ocean ridge (N-MORB) environment. © 2016, Science Press. All right reserved.

Two types of multifractal modes are generalized from Cu, Pb, B, Ti in 1:50000 stream sediment survey in Bileti area of Xinjiang. The power-law diagram of mode one and mode two are fitted by two straight lines and three straight lines respectively. Elements of mode one are distributed as background and regional anomalies, which show no significant enrichment and ore-forming potential. Elements of mode two have strong local anomalies with fairly promising prospecting potential in addition to the background and regional anomalies. Four prospecting targets for Cu, Pb polymetallic minerals are delineated based on geochemical and geological characteristics in this area.

The Sakaerde copper deposit is a mesothermal-epithermal deposit. The δ 13CPDB values of quartz and calcite samples in the deposit vary in a narrow range of -17.3‰~-0.7‰. The δ 18OSMOW values range from 16.2‰ to 22.4‰, their corresponding δ 18OH2O values are between 6.9‰ and 12.5‰, and the δ D values of fluid inclusions vary from -73.8‰ to -52.4‰. These data imply that the ore-forming fluids of the ore deposit were mainly derived from the heated formation water mixed with a small amount of magmatic water and metamorphic water. The carbon in ore-forming fluids mainly came from formation water or atmosphere precipitation, with the addition of some deep magmatic water at the late stage. The δ 34S values range from 0.2‰ to 6.1‰, implying that the sulfur in ore fluids mainly came from the magma or the upper mantle.

Akqi County in Xinjiang has rich tourism resources, unique ethnic culture and development potential. In this paper, SWOT analysis was used to analyze natural resources advantages such as Tuoshigan valley scenery, Millennium trees, Jilusu Spa, and historical monuments, and human resources advantages like Manas culture, Falcon culture, Kumizi culture, ethnic festivals, and ethnic cuisine. There also exist disadvantages in Akqi County, such as underdeveloped economy, poor tourism industry and insufficient tourism publicity. The authors analyzed the opportunities and challenges that Akqi tourism has to face. Tourism in Akqi County has such favorable circumstances as policy advantages, policy guidance, western development and other opportunities. It also faces challenges such as fierce competition and lack of tourism brand. This paper puts forward countermeasures and suggestions in the aspects of tourism development concept, tourism marketing planning and talents training, thus providing theoretical support for the development of tourism in this area.
