A novel dual-wavelength (DW) sampled fiber Bragg grating (FBG) is proposed. Phase shift between two adjacent FBG units is achieved by increasing direct current (DC) refractive index of FBG. The FBG with only identical ±1 order reflective spectrum is optimized with cosine sampling function. This method has the advantages of flexible wavelength design, low fabrication precision and low cost. Comparison between uniform DC phase shift FBG, sample DC phase shift FBG and traditional discrete phase shift FBG is made. Uniform DC phase shift FBG and sample DC phase shift FBG are fabricated, which show a good agreement with theory. DW filter with channel spacing 0.08 nm is fabricated, and the experiment results verify the feasibility of this proposed method. Source

The evaluation of weapons system of systems is an important link in the development of weapons system of systems. It is in the development stage and lacks complete theoretical system and systemic research achievement. Based on improving tentatively the evaluation indexes in evaluation of weapons system of systems, the new strategy of evaluation analysis was proposed by fuzzy mathematics theory. It did not only consider adequately the influence by the evaluation objective, but also built the models of comprehensive evaluation for each link in evaluation process and designed the flow chart for programming. The combination of coupled mode theory (CMT) and transmission matrix method (TMM) is a common tool for analyzing complex fiber Bragg grating (FBG) spectra. The CMT is modified by combining phase and chirp distributions of superimposed FBG (SIFBG). Precise and simple refractive index modulation expression of SIFBG is obtained. With the help of TMM, the spectrum characteristics of uniform, same chirped, different chirped and multiple same chirped SIFBGs are obtained with the above results. The applications of SIFBGs are generalized briefly. Uniform and same chirped SIFBGs are fabricated and measured. The experiment results basically match with the simulations, which proves the validity of this method. Source

According to the approximately statistical independence between the frequency hopping (FH) signal and the partial-band noise jamming (PBNJ) signal, a blind source separation (BSS) based anti-jamming method for FH communication against PBNJ is proposed. The object function is constructed with the second order statistics or the higher order statistics of the separated signals. The unmixing matrix is calculated through the iterations which are induced by the object function. Then, the separation between the FH signal and the PBNJ signal is achieved, and the anti-jamming ability of FH communication is enhanced. Simulation results indicate the proposed method can improve the bit error rate of FH communication greatly when the PBNJ signal exists. The processing delays of the separation algorithm are very small. And the proposed method can satisfy the practical demand of FH communication well. Source

For the engineering application, this paper studies the method of extracting terrain profiles arbitrarily from the Globe maps for the radio wave propagation on the path. Radar wave propagation losses on arbitrary terrain are also computed by using the parabolic equation model. Based on the computation, the omni directional survey scope of monostatic radar for a specific target height is calculated. The research overcomes the shortcoming of geometrical optical method which can not give an accurate terrain modeling and lead to a suspectable calculation conclusion.
