The main purpose of this paper is to present a method to design tunable quadrature filters in phase shifting interferometry. From a general tunable two-frame algorithm introduced, a set of individual filters corresponding to each quadrature conditions of the filter is obtained. Then, through a convolution algorithm of this set of filters the desired symmetric quadrature filter is recovered. Finally, the method is applied to obtain several tunable filters, like four and five-frame algorithms. © 2010 Optical Society of America. Source

The generalized analytical quadrature filter from a set of interferograms with arbitrary phase shifts is obtained. Both symmetrical and non symmetrical algorithms for any order are reported. The analytic expression is obtained through the convolution of a set of two-frame algorithms and expressed in terms of the combinatorial theory. We report a set of eight-frame filters to be used in temporal phase shifting. The result is an analytical expression that generates a family of tunable novel filters. These filters are obtained from the two-frame algorithm and a set of eight-frames or images. A table with several cases analyzed is presented. The analytical expression of the detuning error is obtained to demonstrate the broadband response of the filters. Finally, several simulations of the detuning error of the filters are depicted to corroborate the robustness and usefulness of such filters. © 2015 Elsevier GmbH. All rights reserved. Source

This work introduces a digital holographic interferometer in a simultaneous 3D configuration to detect superficial strains. The system uses a single monochrome sensor and three different lasers in a two exposure method, which can successfully measure the superficial deformation during a controlled deformation. An aluminum plate with a well-known geometry is used as a proof of principle. The deformation and all physical variables are simulated with a finite element algorithm. The comparison between the experimental and the simulated results helps to validate the system's measurements with very good agreement. The metamodels is a technique that was developed to model a speaker's phoneme confusion-matrix and use this information to increase speech recognition accuracy for speakers with disordered and normal speech. Approaches to improve the performance of the metamodels, mainly focused on obtaining better estimates of the speaker's confusion-matrix, were studied. While some achieved significant improvements, alternatives to the functional structure of the metamodels were not explored. In this paper is proposed a different structure for the metamodel of a phoneme and its optimization by means of a genetic algorithm. Results showed statistically significant gains in speech recognition accuracy over the previous metamodels. © 2011 IEEE. Source
