The paper presents the results of statistical regression analysis of hydraulic fracturing efficiency in discontinuous formations. Sweep efficiency was determined using stochastic lithological cubes built with the Irap RMS simulation package. It has been found that hydrofracturing is effective in discontinuous formations characterized by large number of permeable intervals in the section and small-sized sand lenses relative to distance between wells, i.e. hydrofrac efficiency increases with increase of macroinhomogeneity.

Application of conventional sucker-rod pumping units for well-to-well formation water pumping to energize formation in waterflood pool development projects is commonly limited by high loads on sucker rods and failure to seal polished rods at high pressure. The paper discusses the extension of suckerrod pumps' range of application for well-to-well water pumping. The solutions provide for a downhole booster pump and a plunger-and-barrel assembly located below the polished rod to ensure a reliable sealing. The algorithm has been specified; also, the results of calculations related to the extension of application range in terms of the vertical head at 14 MPa wellhead pressure are presented.

Influence of various factors on efficiency of hydrogen sulfide removal using amino formaldehyde-based compositions has been studied. It has been found that the main contributors to efficiency of the process are specific consumption of the chemical agent and the method of feeding and mixing thereof with the oil stream. Increased oil stream temperature facilitates the process, while overall duration of the process determines largely the final concentration of hydrogen sulfide in stock-tank oil.

The electromagnetic water treatment is considered as one of the reagentless methods to reduce the scaling and to improve the cooling efficiency of high-temperature gas flows. It is achieved by the rational choice of the frequency range under laboratory conditions. The choice is made by the lowest particle size distribution of the precipitated particles.
