In this paper, we report a series of diamine ligands with multiple coplanar conjugation rings and their corresponding phosphorescent Cu(I) complexes, including their synthesis, crystal structures, photophysical properties, and electronic nature. Geometric parameters suggest that the Cu(I) center localizes at a distorted tetrahedral geometry within the Cu(I) complexes. Theoretical calculation reveals that all emissions originate from triplet metal-to-ligand-charge-transfer excited state. It is found that the free rotation of conjugation rings may compromise the coplanar plane and thus has little effect on the photophysical property of their corresponding Cu(I) complexes. But excess coplanar conjugation moiety is harmful for emissive state. The detailed quenching mechanism is investigated. © 2011 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

A sort of cascaded H-bridge distribution static synchronous compensator (DSTATCOM) based on current separation compensation is proposed in this paper. A three-phase 4-quadrant VSR united with the DC-side capacitor serves as the independent DC power supply for the H-bridge inverter in the power units of the DSTATCOM. Especially, the VSR provides the whole or a part of the fundamental wave positive-sequence reactive current, and contrarily, the H-bridge inverter only undertakes a part of the reactive compensation tasks besides the fundamental wave negative-sequence and harmonic currents. Thus, the compensation capacity of the DSTATCOM will get optimized distribution and the performance price ratio will also be improved. This paper, firstly introduces the mainly work principle of this device. Secondly, the energy operation rules between the DC and AC side of the power units are analyzed in detail. Moreover, the DC mathematic model is established so as to instruct the researches of the control arithmetic and circuit parameters. Then, this paper sets forth briefly the control system, and on this basis, several critical control methods are analyzed, such as reactive compensation synchronization control technology of every power units. At last, a great deal experiments are made to validate these conclusions mentioned in this paper.

Aiming at discovering causal relationships between frequent episodes, episode rule mining has been broadly applied in many fields such as sensor data processing, network security monitoring, finance & securities managing, transaction log analyzing, and so on. To mine the non-redundant episode rules from an event sequence, an algorithm called Extractor is proposed in this paper. Extractor discovers all frequent closed episodes and their generators by employing the support definition of both minimal and non-overlapping occurrences and the depth-first search strategy, which assures the quality and efficiency of mining frequent closed episodes and their generators. Moreover, Extractor avoids redundant generator checking by utilizing the Apriori Property of non-generators. In addition, Extractor generates non-redundant episode rules directly from frequent closed episodes and their generators, which improves the quality and efficiency of generating episode rules. Experiments have proved the effectiveness of the proposed method.

This paper proposes an algorithm called Predictor. This algorithm uses an automaton per matched episode rule with general form. With the aim of finding the latest minimal and non-overlapping occurrence of all antecedents, Predictor simultaneously tracks the state transition of each automaton by a single scanning of data stream, which can not only map the boundless streaming data into the finite state space but also avoid over-matching episode rules. In addition, the results of Predictor contain the occurring intervals and occurring probabilities of future episodes. Theoretical analysis and experimental evaluation demonstrate Predictor has higher prediction efficiency and prediction precision. © 2012 ISCAS.

Mining frequent closed episodes from an event sequence is an important task. The existing research work is based on the support definition of minimal occurrences and the breadth-first search strategy, which unavoidably leads to the issues such as over-counting the occurrences of an episode and generating a huge number of candidate episodes. In this paper, a novel algorithm FCEMiner is proposed to mine frequent closed episodes from an event sequence, which employs the support definition of both minimal and non-overlapping occurrences and the depth-first search strategy. Moreover, FCEMiner utilizes the non-closed unanimity of special forward extension to skip redundant closure checking and narrow down the search space of frequent closed episodes. Both theoretical study and experimental evaluation confirm that FCEMiner is able to effectively discover frequent closed episodes from an event sequence.

Serial episode mining is one of hot spots in temporal data mining with broad applications such as user-browsing behavior prediction, telecommunication alarm analysis, road traffic monitoring, and root cause diagnostics from faults log data in manufacturing. In this paper, as a step forward to analyzing patterns within an event sequence, we propose a novel algorithm FCEMiner (Frequent Closed Episodes Miner) for discovering all frequent closed episodes. To characterize the followed-by-closely relationships over event types well and avoid over-counting the support of long episodes, FCEMiner takes both minimal and non-overlapping occurrences of an episode into consideration. To perform iterative episode growth without generating any candidate, FCEMiner utilizes the depth-first search strategy with Apriori Property. To save the cost of post-processing on frequent episodes, FCEMiner checks the closures of some episodes during each valid episode growth. A set of performance studies on both synthetic and real-world datasets show that our algorithm is more efficient and effective. © 2012 IEEE.


In this paper, we report the synthesis, crystal structure, photophysical properties, and electronic nature of a phosphorescent Cu(I) complex of [Cu(PYB)(POP)]BF4, where PYB and POP stand for 2-pyridin-2-yl-1H- benzoimidazole and bis(2-(diphenylphosphanyl)phenyl) ether, respectively. [Cu(PYB)(POP)]BF4 renders yellow phosphorescence peaking at 561 nm, with a long excited state lifetime of 13.4 μs. Density functional calculation reveals that the emission comes from a triplet metal-to-ligand-charge-transfer excited state. We electrospun composite nanofibers of [Cu(PYB)(POP)]BF 4 and polystyrene, hoping to explore the possibility of using the composite nanofibers as an oxygen sensing material. The finally obtained samples with average diameter of ∼900 nm exhibit a maximum sensitivity of 4.20 towards molecular oxygen with short response/recovery time (8 s/16 s) due to the large surface-area-to-volume ratio of nanofibrous membranes. No photobleaching is detected in these samples. © 2011 Elsevier B.V.
