How to retrieve and query images effectively is an important research topic in the image database. An image retrieval method is proposed which integrates combined Euler vector and edges orientation histogram(EOH). Firstly, the combined Euler vector feature is extracted from the edge images for image retrieval (EEXO algorithm). Then, to make a distinction among the images which have different shapes and similar Euler features, an image retrieval algorithm named EEXOEOH is presented which combines the EEXO algorithm and the EOH algorithm. The experimental results demonstrate that EEXOEOH has higher retrieval efficiency than the other four algorithms.

To investigate the effect of maternal and dietary selenium on antioxidant status and hair follicle development in 110-day fetal skin from cashmere goats, eighty selected cashmere goats (n = 80) were randomly divided in two groups, C group (fed with the basal diet) and S group (fed with the basal diet with 0.5 mg/kg Nano-Se). Nano-Se was supplemented from 30 days prior to gestation to fetal day 110. Samples of fetus on day 110 have shown that the expression of GSH-Px, IGF-1 and IGF-1R, as well as the activities of GSH-Px and SOD, were significantly higher in S group than those in C group. The MDA level was significantly lower in S group. The concentrations of IGF-1, Se and T-AOC in both fetal serum and skin were significantly increased in S group. Weights of fetal liver and kidney tissues were also significantly increased in S group. Histology assay indicated that there was no significant difference in the number of primary hair follicles between the two groups. However, the number of secondary hair follicles and the secondary to primary follicle (S/P) ratio was significantly higher in S group than those in C group, indicating that the Nano-Se supplement could promote the development of secondary follicles. Our results demonstrate that maternal supplement of Nano-Se could influence antioxidant status in the fetal skin, the resulted low ROS could up-regulate IGF-1 and IGF-1R, which improve the fetal hair follicle development and promote the growth development of fetal. Results of present study suggest that maternal dietary supplements of Nano-Se during gestation could be used to improve the hair follicle development and promote growth development in Cashmere goat fetus. © 2011.

Three dinuclear copper complexes of organic claw ligands (2,2′,2″,‴-(5-R-2-hydroxy-1,3-phenylene)bis(methylene) bis(azanetriyl)tetraacetic acid, R = methyl (H 5L1), chloro (H 5L2) and bromo (H 5L3)): [Cu 2NaL1(H 2O) 2] (1), [Cu 2HL2(H 2O) 2] (2), [Cu 2NaL3(H 2O) 2] (3), have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, infrared spectra, thermo-gravimetric analyses, X-ray diffraction analysis, electrospray ionization mass spectra, pH-potentiometric titration, molar conductivity. Their inhibitory effects against human protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B (PTP1B), T cell protein tyrosine phosphatase (TCPTP), Megakaryocyte protein tyrosinephosphatase 2 (PTP-MEG2), srchomology phosphatase 1 (SHP-1) and srchomology phosphatase 2 (SHP-2) are evaluated in vitro. The three copper complexes exhibit potent and almost same inhibition against PTP1B and SHP-1 with IC 50 values ranging from 0.15 to 0.31 μM, about 2-fold stronger inhibition than against PTP-MEG2, 10-fold stronger inhibition than against TCPTP, but almost no inhibition against SHP-2. Kinetic analysis indicates that they are reversible competitive inhibitors of PTP1B. Molecular docking analyses confirm the inhibition model. Fluorescence titration studies suggest that the complexes bond to PTP1B with the formation of a 1:1 complex. The results demonstrate that copper complexes that are potent PTPs inhibitors but have different inhibitory effects over different PTPs, may be explored as new practical inhibitors towards individual PTP with some specificity. © 2011 Elsevier Inc. In the title compound, C 6H 6N 4· 2C 7H 6O 2, the asymmetric unit contains a half-molecule of biimidazole and one benzoic acid molecule. The unit cell contains two biimidazole molecules and four benzoic acid molecules, giving the reported 2:1 ratio of benzoic acid to biimidazole. The biimidazole molecule is located on an inversion center (passing through the central C - C bond). Strong N - H⋯O and O - H⋯N hydrogen bonds link the benzoic acid molecules with the neutral biimidazole molecules, which lie in planar sheets. In the crystal packing, the parallel sheets are related by a twofold rotation axis and an inversion centre, respectively, forming an inter-woven three-dimensional network via weak C=O⋯π inter-molecular inter-actions between neighboring molecules.

Nitrite contamination can cause serious harm to human health, biological method is a feasible way to eliminate nitrite in food. In this study, microbial strains degrading nitrite were isolated and screened from six kinds of fermented vegetables (cabbage, broccoli, celery, turnip, carrot and cucumber) after the nitrite peak. The separated 285 strains were carried out nitrite reduction reaction test, the results showed that 21 strains could degrade more than 40 percent sodium nitrite; 86 strains could degrade more than 50 percent sodium nitrite; 114 strains could degrade more than 60 percent sodium nitrite; 64 strains could degrade more than 90 percent sodium nitrite. The 64 strains of actic acid bacteria were identified as Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus pentosus, Leuconostoc mesenteroides by biological and chemical reaction identification and 16S rRNA gene identification. These results will provide the principle and method of processing the safe products of the silage fermentation, meat fermentation and the pickled vegetable with low nitrite content.

Identifying the Chinese multiword chunk automatically is a newly emerged technology in the NLP field. As a new strategy, it can effectively improve the performance of the syntactic parsing. The work follows the standard description system of Chinese multiword chunk and has constructed two tag sequence models based on CRF model, which are named as "the syntactic mark tagging list model" and "the sequence mark tagging list model" respectively. The corpus used in the training process is called as "the Chinese multiword chunk bank", which is provided by Tsinghua Universiy. In the experiments, by selecting appropriate the features and introducing some important rules, the better results are achieved and this system for identifying the Chinese multiword chunk can run well in a restricted area. Thus, it provides a bridge between syntax and semantic content. © 2010 IEEE.

In the crystal of the title hydrated salt, C6H7N4 +·C4H5O6 -·0.5H2O, the biimidazole monocation, 1H,1′H-[2,2′-biimidazol]-3-ium, is hydrogen bonded, via N - H⋯O, O - H⋯O and O - H⋯N hydrogen bonds, to the hydrogen tartrate anion and the water molecule, which is located on a twofold rotation axis, forming sheets parallel to (001). The sheets are linked via C - H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional structure. There are also C=O⋯π interactions present [O⋯π distances are 3.00 (9) and 3.21 (7) Å], involving the carbonyl O atoms and the imidazolium ring, which may help to consolidate the structure. In the cation, the dihedral angle between the rings is 11.6 (2)°.

There are strong intramolecular O - H⋯N hydrogen bonds, which generate S(6) rings, and also intermolecular Cl⋯Cl [3.431 (3) Å] and Br⋯ Br [3.846 (1) Å] contacts. The crystal packing a C - H⋯O and C - H⋯π interactions.
