In this work we prepare high contact Poly Ethylene Terephthalate (PET) fabric surface from low contact angle materials. Superhydrophobic PET fabric is prepared by coating the fabric with hybrid Al2O3-SiO 2 sol. In this case, the high contact angle Al2O 3-SiO2 hybrid is created from low contact angle Al 2O3 and SiO2 precursors. PET treated with hybrid Al2O3-SiO2 exhibit Water Contact Angle (WCA) as 150°, while PET treated with individual Al2O3 sol or SiO2 sol exhibits lower WCA, (Al2O3 WCA = 137°; SiO2 WCA = 141°). FESEM and AFM investigations show that the hybrid Al2O3-SiO2 sol and individual Al2O3 or SiO2 sol imparted different roughness geometry on the PET fabric surface. We observe surface structure of fish fin-like, particle-like and hybrid fin-particle for treated PET fabric with; Al2O3, SiO2 and hybrid Al2O 3-SiO2 sol, under FESEM and AFM observations.AFM observations show the evolution of roughness (Ra) dimension of different surface structures with the order of: SiO2 < Al2O3 < Al2O3-SiO2 (Ra = 31, 63 and 273 nm). We believe that the disparity of the surface geometries lead into different surface WCA. FTIR spectra of Hybrid Al2O3-SiO2 shows additional peak at 902, 850, 557, and 408 cm-1 which can be ascribed to the hybridization structure. © Springer Science+Business Media, LLC 2010.

A composite membrane includes a hydrophobic porous membrane and a high water content hydrogel layer disposed on the surface of the hydrophobic porous membrane facing the hot end. The surface active agents contained in the wastewater at the hot end are blocked by the high water content hydrogel layer, thus the problem of pore wetting of the hydrophobic porous membrane can be prevented. Therefore, the membrane distillation technique can be utilized for processing wastewater containing surface active agents.

An ion-exchange membrane is provided, and the fibers of the ion-exchange membrane are obtained by electrospinning. The electrospinning solution contains 100 parts by weight of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), 10-100 parts by weight of a modifier, 10-100 parts by weight of an ion exchanger, and 100-2,500 parts by weight of water. The modifier has a reactive group that can react with the hydroxyl groups of the PVA. The ion exchanger has a polar functional group that can form hydrogen bonds with the hydroxyl groups of the PVA, and has an anion group that can provide ion-exchange ability.

The present disclosure relates to a polymer composite material and preparation method thereof. The polymer composite material includes a polyol and a phase changed cross-linking polymer. The phase changed cross-linking polymer has at least one ionic group, a hydrogen bond is formed between the ionic group and the hydroxyl group of the polyol, the polyol is encapsulated and dispersed within the phase changed cross-linking polymer, and a weight percentage of the polyol is 20-60%, a weight percentage of the phase changed cross-linking polymer is 40-80%.

A dinitro compound I, a diamine compound II and polyimides are provided. The diamine compound II is a reduction product of the dinitro compound I. The polyimides using the diamine compound II as one of the monomers can increase the solubility of the polyimides in various organic solvents and make the color of the polyimides to be transparent and colorless.
