The key performance of modified epoxy resin prepared from epoxy resin (4, 4′-diamino diphenyl methane), silicon carbide, diatomite and curing agent (4, 4′-diamino diphenyl sulfone) was researched. Besides viscosity, gel time of resin and mechanical properties of casting body was tested. Experiment showed that the viscosity of the modified resin was higher than the original one, and the gel time was much less. And with the addition of packing the mechanical properties of the modified resin enhanced firstly then decreased.

The thermal radiation properties of pyrolytic carbon (PyC) protective coatings for monocrystalline silicon furnace prepared by different processes were tested. The changes of normal emissivity of carbon materials caused by PyC protective coatings were discussed, and the influence of phase structure and surface appearance on the thermal radiation properties was investigated. The results show that the thermal radiation properties of PyC protective coatings with the wave band of 5-25 μm are better than C/C substrate, further, normal spectral emissivity of CVD PyC coating remains basically at 0.85-0.90, and the normal total emissivity can reach 0.89, which shows high thermal radiation performance. For resin PyC coating and CVD PyC coating, the degree of graphitization are 44.53% and 16.28% respectively, and the R value of Raman spectrum are 0.964 and 1.384 respectively. Relatively disorder graphite structure of the latter causes various vibration modes, and the spectral emissivity is better, so the thermal radiation property of CVD PyC coating is excellent. A lot of spherical particles exists on the surface of the CVD PyC coating, and the more interface and spacing of particles reduce the number of particles per unit volume. Therefore, the scattering of thermal radiation is strongly strengthened, and the spectral emissivity is higher.

Polyacrylonitrile was synthesized using acrylamide as comonomers. The thermal performances of copolymers were investigated. The results showed that by introducing acrylamide the initial reaction temperature of PAN was advanced; double peak appeared while the exothermic peak was widened, meantime the weight loss and exothermic reaction velocity dropped, which would promote PAN precursor to form uniform cyclic ladder structure during pre-oxidation and carbonization phases, finally increase the mechanical properties of carbon fiber.

The curing processing of TR1219B heat-resistant epoxy system was studied by non-isothermal differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) at different heating rates. The curing kinetic mechanism function and the kinetic parameters were determined using n order reaction model and the most probability mechanism function method given by Malek respectively, and the kinetic model was built. The results indicate that the n order model deviates significantly from experimental data by Kissinger and Crane methods. While the most probability mechanism function method show that the process of curing reactions follows an autocatalytic reaction, and the DSC curves from the autocatalytic model can well agree with that of experiment, the autocatalytic model can well depict the curing reaction process of the studied epoxy resins in the range of 5-20K/min.

The surface appearance and element distribution of monocrystalline silicon furnace carbon materials after silicification corrosion were tested in this paper, and the silicification corrosion property of different carbon thermal field materials was studied. The results showed that open pores which extend from interior structure to surface provided roads for corrosion and diffusion of silicon melt, so silicification destruction was accelerated. Silicification level was effected by fiber distribution direction in C/C composite, diffusion rate of silicon melt was fast in the direction of fiber axis, and the rate was lower perpendicular to fiber axis. The mechanical strength of C/C composite decreased with silicification time in creasing, and the strength of graphite material first increased and then decreased as time progressed.
