A detection method for detecting a detection target substance is provided. The method includes a first application step of applying a magnetic field a liquid suspension to link a plurality of magnetic particles in a row from an interior surface of a liquid receiving member that receives the liquid suspension of magnetic particles to which a detection target substance is bound, a second application step of bringing the linked magnetic particles near the interior surface while the magnetic field is applied to the liquid suspension, and a detection step of detecting the detection target substance bound to the magnetic particles brought near the interior surface by the second application step, wherein the direction of the magnetic field applied to the liquid suspension is altered so the linked magnetic particles approach the interior surface in the second application step.


A smear preparation apparatus comprises a blood processing unit, a washing unit, a controller, an information obtaining unit. The controller changes the washing condition for washing after processing a blood sample to a second washing condition which is stronger than the first washing condition when abnormal blood cells occur in the blood sample.

Provided are a urine sample analyzer and a urine sample analyzing method, which are capable of accurately determining the presence of sperms in urine sample analysis. A measurement specimen containing a urine sample is let flow through flow cell 41, and light is applied to the measurement specimen flowing through flow cell 41. Then, a signal corresponding to light received from particles contained in the urine sample is acquired. Thereafter, determination about the presence of sperms in the urine sample is performed based on parameters reflecting the waveform of the acquired signal. Thus, the presence of sperms can be accurately determined.


The application relates to a reagent comprising a trapping body which comprises a binding substance which binds to an analyte, a support, and a linker which links the binding substance and the support with each other. The application further relates to methods for detecting an analyte in a sample, comprising the step of forming a first and a second complex comprising said trapping body.


In order to provide a reagent kit for detecting LA which can clearly separate a lupus anticoagulant (LA) -positive specimen group from an LA-negative specimen group, it is configured that the reagent kit for detecting LA contains a first clotting time-measuring reagent and a second clotting time-measuring reagent and at least one of the first clotting time-measuring reagent and the second clotting time-measuring reagent contains alkali metal salt. The presence or absence of LA can be determined using the kit.
