Eradication effort of tuberculosis disease in Indonesia has been carried out by implementing the strategy of Directly Observed Treatment Short-Course (DOTS) free of charge. However, its prevention and eradication are still unsatisfactory and Vitamin D expected to be able to enhance intracellular immune response. An experimental research using randomized post-test control group design was selected in this study. Twenty four mice were selected and allocated randomly into two groups. Twelve mice in one group were given 100ng of vitamin D orally, while twelve mice in another group were not given vitamin D. Then each group was allocated randomly into two sub groups of six mice. Six mice in one sub group were infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis, while six mice in another sub group were not infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The results showed that Vitamin D plays a role in increasing the body's resistance to tuberculosis and inhibits lung tissue damage due to tuberculosis.

The children' snacks in state elementary school tend to be sold at a low price, sometimes the food vendors do not seem to take into account the quality, hygiene and sanitation of the snacks. Electronic media often report about the food or the snacks that contain hazardous substances such as preservatives and dyes that are banned by the government. The survey was conducted in August and September 2014 in 74 state elementary schools scattered in the city of Surabaya with sample of 631 pieces, and the results show a Formalin content (0%) in children' snacks and the snacks content of Rhodamine B (2,32%) and Auramine (0%) that are sold in the state elementary schools in the city of Surabaya.

Intoxication of lead (Pb) causes the formation of free radicals that affect the antioxidative defense system, thus speeding up cell damage. Soybean (Glycine max L. Merr) Ijen is one of the varieties of food containing phenolic compounds and flavonoids, which have antioxidant activity. Experimental animals used in this study were the Mus muscullus Balb / c as much as 25 tails, they were divided into 5 groups: placebo, negative control, positive control, test and comparison groups. The negative control, test and comparison group were given Pb at a dose of 25 mg / kg orally for 7 days. After the stages of intoxication, positive control and test groups were given suspensions extract of soybean Ijen varieties at a dose of 1g/1 ml for 7 days, the comparison group was given a suspension of vitamin C supplementation at a dose of 64 mg / kg orally for 7 days, and the negative control group were given mucilago CMC Na 0,5% of 1 ml for 7 days. Liver tissue of mice were used to analyze the activity of the catalase enzyme and malondialdehyde (MDA) level. Kidney's tissues were used for histopathological examination. Extract of soybean (Glycine max L.Merr) Ijen varieties decreases the activity of the enzyme catalase and repair damaged Kidneycells of mice that lead intoxication as effective as vitamin C.

Soybean is known to be the best source of isoflavone and antioxidant. Black soybean var. Detam II is proven to decrease the lead level in lead intoxicated mice, so that the antioxidant of black soybean var. Detam II extract is held. Defatted black soybean was extracted with methanol, hydrolyzed with HCl, then extracted with diethylether. The diethylether in the extract was evaporated until constant weight, then flavonoid was identificated by TLC and the active substances was analysed by GC-MS. The TLC result showed three unidentified flavonoids and the result by GC-MS showed Hexadecanoic acid, methyl ester, and Hexadecanoic acid, ethyl ester which three act as antioxidant. Neither isoflavone genistein substance was detected in black soybean var. Detam II extract with obtained by diethylether.
