In this paper, a reduced-order delay-dependent robust H∞ filter design method for uncertain discrete-time singular systems with interval time-varying delay is presented by the LMI approach. On the basis of the bounded real lemma obtained, we propose the sufficient condition for the existence of reduced-order H∞ filters such that the delayed filtering error singular system is regular, causal, and stable with H∞ norm bound. Also, a new reduced-order H∞ filter design method for discrete singular systems with lossy measurements is presented using the proposed method to show the applicability of the main result. Finally, two numerical examples are provided to illustrate the applications of the reduced-order filter design technique. © 2011 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.


This paper focuses on the delay-dependent robust H∞ filtering for uncertain discrete-time singular systems with interval time-varying delay. The uncertainty considered is a convex compact set of polytopic type. The purpose is the design of a linear robust H∞ filter such that the resulting filtering error singular system is regular, causal, and asymptotically stable with a H∞ norm bound. By establishing a finite sum inequality based on quadratic terms, a new delay-dependent bounded real lemma (BRL) for delayed singular systems is derived. Based on the derived BRL, a sufficient condition for the solvability of this problem is obtained in terms of linear matrix inequality (LMI) without decomposing the original system matrices. Also, it is shown that the proposed filter design method is general for both singular systems and non-singular systems. Finally, illustrative examples are presented to show the applicability of the proposed method. © 2010 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Disclosed is a micro-electron column including nanostructure tips each of which has a tubular, columnar, or blocky structure ranging in size from several nanometers to dozens of nanometers. In the micro-electron column, the nanostructure tips can easily emit electrons because a high electric field is generated at the end of the nanostructure tips when a voltage is applied to the nanostructure tips, and an induction electrode is disposed between the electron emitter and a source lens so as to help electrons emitted from the electron emitter to enter an aperture of a first lens electrode layer of the source lens, thereby realizing improved performance of the micro-electron column. In the micro-electron column, the size of the nanostructure tips may be larger than that of the aperture of a source lens.
