A study has been done on characterization of liquid smoke from coconut shell as pesticide on Heramitodera Semivelutinia beetle. Liquid smoke was made by way of pyrolysis in high temperature in which prior to being analyzed, a purification was conducted to the liquid smoke by filtration and distillation methods. Characterization for acidity was by pH meter, testing acidity total level was using AOAC(1990) method, gas cromatography analysis and mass spectometry gas chromatography. The result of GC-MS analysis showed that liquid smoke from coconut shell produced 7 peaks in which based on GC-MS library data, 2 chromatogram peaks of gas cromatography cromatogram indicate compound from groups of organic acids, phenol and carbonyl compounds, which are methyl acetate, and 1-hydroxy-2-butanones suspected as pesticides. The application of liquid smoke on borer caterpillar (Hexamitodera Semivelutinia) on clove trees with concentrations of 20%, 15%, 10% showed that the level of death of clove caterpillar at concentration of 20% was quite positive compared to concentrations of 15% and 10% at the clove tree age of 8-10 years. © Research India Publications.

One of equipment as prime movers in the marine current power plant is turbine. Marine current turbines require a data of marine currents velocity in its design. The objective of this study was to get the velocities distribution of marine currents in the Bangka strait. The method used survey, observation, and measurement in the Bangka strait. The data of seawater density conducted measurement in the Bangka strait. The data of width and depth of the strait collected from the map of Bangka strait and its depth of the sea. Problem solving of the study used a numerical model. The velocities distribution of marine current obtained from a numerical model in the form of numerical program. The results showed that the velocities distribution at seawater column when low and high tide currents which the maximum happened at 0.1 Sv were 0-0.9 and 0-1.0 m/s respectively, while at 0.3 Sv were 0-2.7 and 0-3.0 m/s respectively. The results will be a product in analyzing the potential kinetic energy that used to design profile of the turbines as prime mover for marine currents power plant in the Bangka strait, North Sulawesi, Indonesia. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The electricity supply in North Sulawesi is still very limited so ubiquitous electric current outage. It makes rural communities have problems in life because most uses electrical energy. One of the solutions is a model of power plants to supply electricity in Tateli village, Minahasa, North Sulawesi, Indonesia. The objective of this research is to get the model that generate electrical energy for household needs through power plant that using a model of Picohydro with cross flow turbine in Tateli village. The method used the study of literature, survey the construction site of the power plant and the characteristics of the location being a place of research, analysis of hydropower ability and analyzing costs of power plant. The result showed that the design model of cross flow turbines used in pico-hydro hydropower installations is connected to a generator to produce electrical energy maximum of 3.29 kW for household needs. The effectiveness of vegetable insecticide extracts of hutun (Baringtonia asiatica Kurz) seeds on larvae of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) vector Aedes aegypti mosquito has been conducted. The test results indicate that there are differences in the real (significant) mortality level of mosquito larvae at various levels of concentration. The test result of Probit Analysis shows the LC50 mortality concentration value of Ae. aegypti larvae with the provision of concentration of 35.572 ppm is a concentration quantity value of the methanol extract of the hutun seeds which is the most effective way to kill the larvae of Ae. aegypti as much as 50% during 24 hours of treatment. According to the toxicity criteria, based on Australian Petroleum Energy Association, the concentration of 35.572 ppm of seeds hutun methanol extract or (LC50 = 35.572 ppm) at 24 hours of observation is included in the criteria for Toxic Toxicity. © 2016, Sphinx Knowledge House. The Effect of Learning-management Competence, Self Efficacy and Work Motivation toward Lecturers’ Performance on Engineering Faculty Manado State University. This research is intended to discribe the effect of learningmanagement competence, self efficacy and work motivation toward lecturers’ performance on Engineering Faculty Manado State University. Sixty lecturers were selected from the teacher population of 130 using proportional random sampling technique and were assigned to respond to a questionnaire. The results of analysis reveal that learning-management competency has positive effects on lecturers’ performance, self efficacy has positive effect on lecturers’ performance, work motivation has positive effect on lecturers’ performance; learning-management competency, self efficacy and work motivation have simultaneously effect on lecturers’ performance. The research concludes that lecturers’ performance can be increased through improving learningmanagement competence, increasing self efficacy and increasing work motivation. © Research India Publications.

The river is a multi-resource functions that are vital to human life. The main functions of the river is a source of drinking water, power generation, irrigation fields / farms and aquaculture, transport, supply of building materials, tourism and so forth. In fact the condition of the river, discharge and water quality is even more alarming, as these resources are non-renewable. This research will be discussed further on physical variables such as changes in velocity, density, momentum and drag force, the social impact, attitudes and behavior are good in order to flood hazard mitigation and control, and the relationship between attitudes and behavior in order to mitigate hazard and flood control. Physical variable modeling analysis results showed that the increasing flood flooding the maximum velocity of the river flow will be shifted toward the surface, so with the momentum, but the density of the river water is almost evenly on all levels of the river water, but the drag force will be larger, because the drag force depends on the velocity of the river flow. © 2014 Marthen Kumajas. The assessment of river estuary physical erosion can be based on position and time distribution of velocity and sediment transport. The physical variables are partially or integratedly used to assess the flow characteristics. Analysis of the physical variables and their changes along the river estuary can show the process of sediment deposition in the estuary. Data distribution and flow physical variable profile will generate mathematical function of changes along the estuary. Spatially, this mathematical function will generate and determine the position of the material transport deposition (map of sediment deposition in along the estuary of the river). The material transport deposition map (based on the valueof (c0), presents the contours of c0 during the low tide (presented in the form of curves/full line), while the contours of c0 during the high tide (is presented in the form of dashed lines). The concentration contour of material transport at high tide is at the position of 80 meters of c0 equals 1.35 grams per litter, at low tide c0 equals 1.36 grams per litter, and at the maximum high tide, almost all sediment is in the form of fine sand sediment deposited at the position of 0 meter up to the position of 280 meters, the c0 value is equal to 1.26 grams per litter. It can be seen in the contour map the shifting position or contour lines at low tide and high tide, and when the tide is shifted farther to the upstream of shoreline. Contour lines shift to the upstream direction of shoreline at high tide shows the position shift of deposition of material transport to the upstream direction. In this condition, the concentration of sediment in the form of fine sand at the maximum high tide, almost all of it is deposited at the location next to shoreline upstream. © 2014 Maxi Tendean.

In this era, there is a lot of business process modeling techniques. This article is the research about differences of business process modeling techniques. For each technique will explain about the definition and the structure. This paper presents a comparative analysis of some popular business process modelling techniques. The comparative framework is based on 2 criteria: notation and how it works when implemented in Somerleyton Animal Park. Each technique will end with the advantages and disadvantages. Usability usually defined as a point of human acceptance to a product or a system based on understands and right reaction to an interface. The performance of web application has been influence by the quality of the interface of that web to supporting information transfer process. Preferably, before the applications of expert systems were installed in the operational environment, these applications must be evaluated first by usability testing. This research aimed to measure the usability of the expert system application using tasks as interaction media. This study uses an expert system application to diagnose skin disease in human using questionnaire method which utilize the tasks as interaction media in measuring the usability. Certain tasks were executed by the participants in observing usability value of the application. The usability aspects observed were learnability, efficiency, memorability, errors, and satisfaction. Each questionnaire question represent aspects of usability. The results present the usability value for each aspect and the total average merit for all the five-usability aspect was 4.28, this indicated that the tested expert system application is in the range excellent for the usability level, so the application can be implemented as the operated system by user. The main contribution of the study is the research became the first step in using task model in the usability evaluation for the expert system application software. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

This study intended for the generation of hydroelectric power at suitable area of the strait in order to provide electric current to a close environment. The project uses a three-dimensional model of taking flow into account the variation of hydrostatic pressure in the liquid vertical layers. We brought back to a two-dimensional calculation using the shallow water equations. The objectives of the study are getting simultaneous obtaining the velocities of currents by the component of velocities and distributions of the kinetic energy from the numerical results. The Bunaken strait is 5280 m width for an average depth of 130 m. Numerical calculation is simulated using horizontal meshes of 60 side meters. The numerical solutions obtained by using a time step of one second. It found that there was no great difference between 2D and 3D numerical simulations because the effect of flow velocity in the vertical direction is very small. The numerical results have shown that the average current velocities when low and high tide currents are 1.46 m/s and 0.85 m/s respectively. The kinetic energy ranged from 0.01 to 2.54 kW/m2 when low and high tide in the Bunaken strait area at discharge of 1 Sv, whereas at discharge 2 Sv, 0.11-17.40 kW/m2 and 0.11-2.77 kW/m2 (when low and high tide currents). These results can used in the design of turbines for power generation marine currents in the Bunaken strait at depths below 60 meters. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
