Due to the bigger in-wheel space occupied by an in-wheel motor, the traditional front suspension cannot be installed. Therefore, a new suspension system for in-wheel motor driving was developed by changing McPherson suspension's single lower control arm to two separate control arms. The theoretical calculation model and the multi-body dynamic model for the new suspension system's front wheel positioning parameters were built and analyzed, respectively. Through the optimization of the hard point locations of the new suspension system, its suitable front wheel positioning parameters were obtained. The new suspension provided an enough in-wheel space for installation of an in-wheel motor. Meanwhile, most of the original components could be used continuously. ©, 2015, Chinese Vibration Engineering Society. All right reserved.

To study the effect of accelerometer and its mounting technique on the results of vehicle crash simulation test, the popular piezoresistance and capacitive silicon accelerometers are used to measure the results of simulation tests in acceleration and deceleration sleds for different crash simulation waveforms. The parameters including output deviation, correlation function, impact energy and shock response spectra (SRS) of accelerometers with different types, locations, and mounting techniques are calculated and analyzed through tools like DIAdem and Matlab. The results show that in time and frequency domains the difference types and mounting techniques of accelerometers have no obvious influence on measured results of regular waveform simulation, but do have influence to some degrees on those of random waveform simulations.

To identify internal combustion engine(IC engine) noise, a mathematical model is established, and the corresponding program is developed. By introducing global thresholds to decrease noise in the wavelet transforms program, the anti-interference of the program can be guaranteed, the spectrums of the combustion noise and mechanical noise are separated, and their A-weighted sound power levels are figured out. Taking a CG125 style motorcycle engine for an example, theoretical examples that include different interferential noises are constructed to simulate the identification and to validate the accuracy and practicability of the program. Results of the identification show that the spectrums of the combustion noise and mechanical noise before and after separation are agreed well; errors of A-weighted sound power level are all less than 0.6 dB.

In order to obtain the parameters of viscoelastic damping material model, namely GHM, which account for frequency dependence and allow time-domain analysis of viscoelastic composite structure, a new optimization algorithm which is composed of particle swarm optimization(PSO) and sequential quadratic programming (SQP) algorithm is presented. The results are compared with those of standard rheological model and fractional derivative model as well as the experiment results. The results show that the hybrid algorithm can obtain the better optimum solution for the model and have a fast convergence, it will correctly describe the constitutive characteristics of viscoelastic damping material. © (2010) Trans Tech Publications.
