Three-floating-barrel support structure of large scale offshore floating wind turbines was researched herein. Considering the combined action of wind and wave, using the BEM theory and linear wave theory, the wind load model, wave load model, and wind-wave combination load model were built. In calculation process, different operating conditions of wind turbines were considered, the different wave load models, Morison formula and diffraction theory, were selected based on the ratio of floating barrel diameter to wave length. Load calculation results for different operating conditions, environment parameters and structure parameters were obtained, and the load characteristics were analyzed. © 2016, China Mechanical Engineering Magazine Office. A coupled system of a mesoscale weather model WRF (Weather Research and Forecasting) and a computational cluid dynamics (CFD) code Fluent which using WRF outputs as boundary conditions to drive Fluent was established. The system was used to simulate wind field of Poyang Lake area with complex surface conditions. The simulation date were quantificationally comparied with two wind data sets. The results showed that the surface wind field information simulated by WRF coupled Fluent system is obviously better good than the one of WRF direct simulation. This indicated that the technology coupled mesoscale weather model with CFD model is practicable. The coupled system simulates wind flow from the synoptic scale to the turbine scale and gives out relatively realistic details of the wind field caused by small-scale topographic changes in the wind farm. ©, 2015, Science Press. A safety life estimation method of high strength bolts was established based on the Palmgren Miner linear damage rule and the correction of average stress was made after considering engineering uncertainty of the construction. The mechanical properties of the high strength bolts were analyzed, and then fatigue calculation program was compiled. A practical analysis method was offered in bolt design, strength checking, fatigue life and reliability analysis. Source

The wind turbine foundation was simplified to 1/4 scale model by its formation characteristics. Thought the pull-out test of scale model tests, the distribution law of bond stress was studied and the formula was presented. Meanwhile, simulation and analysis for 1/4 scale model tests, which using surface-to-surface contact pair to simulate the contact between steel plate and concrete, were done by used general finite element analysis (FEA) program ANSYS. Calculation results showed that the numerical simulation results can be in good agreement with the experimental results.
