The crude ore analyzed by SEM and XRD was adopted for the experiment research of roasting-magnetic separation process, and the process parameter was optimized. The result of phase analysis shows that the inlay relationship between limonite and gangue is complex, and it is difficult to get a well data via conventional methods. The experiment study shows that magnetic roasting-magnetic separation process can be used to deal with the ore. The research got certain good indicators that concentrate productivity is 43.68%, concentrate grade is 53.98%, iron recovery is 83.91% and content of SiO2 is 13.9% on the conditions that roasting temperature is 950°C, roasting time is 15 min, coal blending amount is 5%, grading of roasted ore is 150μm and magnetic field strength is 60mT.
