Two new dianthramide glucosides, N-(2′-β-d-glucopyranosyl- 5′-hydroxysalicyl)-4-hydroxy-3-methoxyanthranilic acid methyl ester (1) and N-(2′-β-d-glucopyranosyl-5′-hydroxysalicyl)-4- hydroxyanthranilic acid methyl ester (2), together with five known glycosides, were isolated from the lateral roots of Aconitum carmichaelii. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic analyses. In the in vitro assays, compounds 1 and 2 showed activity against pentobarbital sodium-induced cardiomyocytes damage by recovering beating rhythm and increasing the cell viability. Two new pyrazines, aconicarpyrazine A (1) and aconicarpyrazine B (2), together with five known heterocyclic compounds: adenosine (3), uridine (4), hypoxanthine (5), nicotinamide (6), and uracil (7), were isolated from the parent roots of Aconitum carmichaelii. The structures of these alkaloids were elucidated by spectroscopic analysis, including 2D NMR techniques. This is the first report of pyrazines in a species of Aconitum. © 2012 Elsevier Ltd. Source
