This paper describes a technique for voltage stability margin enhancement under emergency condition using adequate relative participation of real power generations. The load power received in generation space has been maximized using particle swarm optimization (PSO). This technique is computationally efficient and its mechanization is simple. The developed algorithm has been implemented on six-bus standard test system. Results obtained have been compared with those obtained using Davidon-Fletcher-Powell's (DFP) optimization technique1. PSO performance is better over DFP method.
