In the sugar beet farming system the influence of tillage (conventional, reduced) and bio-preparations (Beta-LIQ, Trichomil) on soil structure was studied. Field experiment is situated on research-experimental base of SAU in Nitra on soil type Haplic Luvisols. Obtained results showed on a strong influence of applied bio-preparates on parameters of soil structure as well as the structural and water-stable aggregates. Applied bio-preparates had largely negative effect on soil structure parameters, except the impact on mean weight diameter of structural and water-stable aggregates. Influence of Trichomil was higher than Beta-LIQ. Parameters of soil structure and water-stable aggregates under sugar beet crops were statistically significantly affected by tillage. Overall, more favourable values were determined in the variants with reduced tillage compared to conventional. Source

Global economical crisis was felt in the diff erences in the incomes of the households and their food consumption. In the paper are analyzed the changing patterns in the structure of demand for meat and the impact on total expenditure on meat and meat products in the households of employees, households of self-employed persons and households of pensioners. When examining the sensitivity of demand to changes in consumer meat prices in diff erent social groups of households was estimated own-price elasticity of demand, as well as cross-price elasticity. A list of weeds in sugar beet stands was compiled based on a weed infestation research in the Slovak Republic carried out in 1997-2006. In those years, sugar beet was infested by 50 weed species and 9 weed genuses closely unspecified. The tendency of weed spread was determined based on the species relations to soil moisture. Majority of them (25 species, or genuses) belonged to mesophyte species with a tendency of spreading in both dry and humid years. Twenty species (or genuses) had a tendency to spread preferably in humid years and 4 species in dry years only. Possible unequal rainfall concentrated into a few short time periods during the beet vegetative period will thus be used by more weed species for their development than during the year with moisture deficit. Field polyfactorial trials realized in years 2013–2014, in warm maize growing region (climatic region: warm; climatic subregion: dry; climatic district: warm, dry, with mild winter and long sunshine, Loam haplic luvisol), monitored the following: impact of the annual weather conditions and foliar application of growth stimulator Albit (control variant, seed disinfecting, single application, double application, triple application) on production parameters (yield of bulbs, sugar content) of sugar beet (variety Predátor). Specific course of temperature and moisture conditions confirmed statistically high significant effect of the annual weather conditions on the monitored parameters of sugar beet production not only in the extent of yield of bulbs (65.58 t ha–1 in 2013, 72.10 t ha–1 in 2014), but also in sugar content (17.63% in 2013, 16.30% in 2014). The highest achieved yields of sugar beet bulbs in the given soil and climatic conditions during the monitored years were statistically non-significant, and were achieved in variant with double application of growth stimulator Albit (69.03 t ha–1). Analytically determined sugar content due to treatment (statistically non-significant) was, as well as yield of bulbs, greatly influenced by double application of Albit (17.44%). In the given soil and climatic conditions, higher levels of yield of sugar beet bulbs were reached (statistically non-significant) in variant with growth bio-stimulator Unicum (74.55 t ha–1) and yield of sunfower achenes (statistically significant) in methodically chosen foliar application of Terra-Sorb (2.51 t ha–1). Analytically determined quality of monitored crops under the infuence of used preparations was statistically significant, with a more significant increase in digestion in variant with Terra-Sorb (16.97oS) and fat content in variant with applied Unicum (54.85%). Analysis of Impact of Stimulant Preparations on Production Parameters of Sugar Beet and Crop Contained in Crop Rotation Field polyfactorial trials realized in years 2012–2013 in warm maize growing region (climatic region: warm; climatic subregion: dry; climatic district: warm, dry, with mild winter and long sunshine, Loam haplic luvisol) monitored the impact of annual weather conditions and foliar application of foliar fertilizer Unicum and growth bio-stimulator Terra-Sorb on production parameters of sugar beet (Expert, Predátor) and sunfower (NK Brio, NK Neoma and NK Alego). Particular course of temperature and moisture conditions confrmed statistically highly significant effect of annual weather conditions on the monitored parameters of sugar beet production not only in the extent of yield of bulbs (2012: 74.48 t ha–1 respectively 69.85 t ha–1 in 2013), but also in digestion (2012: 16.93oS, respectively 16.66oS in 2013). The statistical trend of agro-ecological impact of environmental conditions on the endpoints of yield and quality was confrmed in sunfower as well.
