Diagnostic morphological and biological characteristics of all known species of the Phyllonorycter ulicicolella species group are presented. Results of DNA barcoding analysis are shown. One new species of this group, Phyllonorycter erinaceae Laštůvka & Laštůvka, sp. n. living on Erinacea anthyllis is described from Spain. Phyllonorycter scorpius Laštůvka & Laštůvka, 2006 is synonymized with Ph. echinosparti Laštůvka & Laštůvka, 2006, and Ph. lobeliella Nel, 2009 with Ph. baetica Laštůvka & Laštůvka, 2006. New faunistic and biological observations (host plant use) are added. Questionable cases are considered. Important diagnostic morphological characters (forewings, right valvae and female genitalia) are illustrated.

The records of ten species of mining Lepidoptera new for Portugal or Spain are presented. Stigmella rolandi Van Nieukerken, 1990, S. minusculella (Herrich-Schäffer, 1855), Trifurcula (Levarchama) ortneri (Klimesch, 1951), T. (L.) subnitidella (Duponchel, 1843) and Pseudopostega chalcopepla (Walsingham, 1908) are new for Portugal, and the following five species are new for Spain: Phyllonorycter ulicicolella (Stainton, 1851), P. trifoliella (Gerasimov, 1933), Bucculatrix cidarella (Zeller, 1839), B. alpina Frey, 1870 and B. humiliella Herrich-Schäffer, 1855. Stigmella minusculella, Phyllonorycter trifoliella, Bucculatrix alpina and B. humiliella are new for the Iberian Peninsula. New province records are given of 31 species (41 new province records in all). The female genitalia of Trifurcula (Glaucolepis) pederi Laštu°vka & Laštu°vka, 2007 are described and hostplant data for Phyllonorycter estrela Laštu°vka & Laštu°vka, 2006 (Cytisus multiflorus) and P. andalusicus Laštu°vka & Laštu°vka, 2006 (Genista umbellata) are included.

The lectotype of Lithocolletis lapadiella Krone, 1909 is designated here and the synonymization with Lithocolletis dalmatinella Amsel, 1951 and Phyllonorycter picardi Buvat, 1995 has been confirmed. Phyllonorycter lapadiella (Krone, 1909) is recorded from the Iberian Peninsula for the first time; and its known distribution is presented.

New records of Nepticulidae and Gracillariidae for Portugal or Spain are presented. Stigmella aceris (Frey, 1857), Caloptilia loriolella (Frey, 1881), C. cuculipennella (Hübner, 1796), C. falconipennella (Hübner, [1813]), C. honoratella (Rebel, 1914), C. hemidactylella ([Denis Schiffermüller], 1775), Phyllonorycter ochreojunctella (Klimesch, 1942), Ph. echinosparti Laštůvka & Laštůvka, 2006 and Ph. stettinensis (Nicelli, 1852) are new for Spain, and Stigmella rhamnophila (Amsel, 1935), Caloptilia loriolella, Phyllonorycter kusdasi (Deschka, 1970) and Ph. triflorella (Peyerimhoff, 1872) are new for Portugal. Stigmella aceris, S. rhamnophila, Caloptilia loriolella, C honoratella, Phyllonorycter ochreojunctella and Ph. stettinensis are new for the Iberian Peninsula. New province records are given for 38 species (47 new province records in all).

Two new species of the Phyllonorycter haasi-group are described: Phyllonorycter balansae Laštůvka & Laštůvka, sp. n. from Spain, living on Cytisus balansae and Ph. floridae Laštůvka & Laštůvka, sp. n. from Portugal, living on Genista florida. The diagnostic characters of all species of the group are defined. New faunistic and biological observations are presented, and several previous data are corrected. All important morphological characters (adults, male and female genitalia) are figured.
