The main purpose of this paper is to design a pulse-width-modulated (PWM) pulse power supply to test the performance of the solenoid valve. In order to achieve this purpose, from hardwave stage, one of the main part of designing is to use a microcontroller unit (MCU) as the core in the control system cooperating with the functional generator chip MAX038 and SG3525 to output the desired PWM waveform. From the softwave stage, the output voltage amplitude, frequency and duty cycle of the testing power supply convert in the specified ranges according to the cycle of continuous change through modular software, which is a great way to meet various types of solenoid valves simulation in actual working conditions. The power has been applied successfully and effectively to the solenoid valve manufacturing enterprises. ©2010 IEEE.

Principle of the Laser Doppler Velocimetry (LDV) and Adaptive Phase Doppler Velocimetry(APV) system was summarized and the flow field of water mist produced by dust reduction nozzle was measured. Experiment results show that the particle size of water mist is reduced, the range along radial direction, total volume flux of water mist and air in the jet flow is increased as work pressure of the nozzle increased. In the main body of the jet flow, the attenuation of axial velocity both in axial and radial direction is gentle, the radial and tangential velocity have single peak distribution in radial direction, and the efficiency of dust reduction is improved by swirling water jet.

The optimal determination conditions of cobalt in pyrometallurgical nickel-based materials by 4-(5-chlor-2-pyridineazo)-1, 3-phenylenediamine (5-Cl-PADAB) spectrophotometry were studied. The proper sample solution preparation method was investigated. The generation of complex under different acidity conditions was compared, and the optimal determination wavelength and dosage of coloring solution were obtained. The results showed that the interference of Ni2+, Cr3+ and Cu2+ to cobalt could be eliminated by adding proper amount of ammonium citrate solution as masking agent. Since the content of Fe3+ was too high, besides of the addition of ammonium citrate solution, equivalent Fe3+ in sample solution should be added into standard solution to plot calibration curve to eliminate its interference. Under the optimal conditions, the Beer's law was obeyed for the concentration of cobalt in range of 0.005%-0.5%. The proposed method was applied to the analysis of actual sample, and the results were consistent with those obtained by atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS). The relative standard deviation (RSD, n=11) was 1.6%-3.2%. This method could be used for the analysis of cobalt in pyrometallurgical nickel-based materials, and it laid a certain foundation for the establishment of industrial standard.

Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) is one of the most important analysis method of safety system engineering, the FTA can finish the qualitative analysis and the quantitative analysis, the consequences of accidents described with FTA are intuitional, intelligible, clear and logical, is now the recognized practical methods to the security and reliability analysis of complex system. In this paper, based on advanced computer theory and technology, combined with fault tree analysis method, determine the system functions, completes the design of system structure, furthermore, the integrated analysis environment that combines the Fault Tree graph creation and Fault Tree dynamic analysis is constructed based on computer. The FTA analysis system supplies high efficiency and correct technology and measures for accidents analysis and safely assessment. © 2014 Taylor & Francis Group, London, UK.

In recent years, China has fully developed in output, quality, and technical advancement of refractories, and become the biggest country in refractories production and consumption in the world. Meanwhile, education and training in China' s refractories industry have developed rapidly. This paper introduces the present situations of undergraduate education, postgraduate education, academic education, and vocational and other training of China' s refractories industry, including the student recruiting situation, subject arrangement, teachers force, and R&D equipment level, and also puts forward some suggestions for China' s refractories education and training.

Laser shocking peening is a widely applied surface treatment technique that can effectively improve the fatigue properties of metal parts. We observe many micro-scale arc plastic steps on the surface of Zr47.9Ti 0.3Ni3.1Cu39.3Al9.4 metallic glass subjected to the ultra-high pressure and strain rate induced by laser shock peening. The scanning electronic microscopy and atomic force microscopy show that the arc plastic step (APS) has an arc boundary, 50-300 nm step height, 5-50 μm radius and no preferable direction. These APSs have the ability to accommodate plastic deformation in the same way as shear band. This may indicate a new mechanism to accommodate the plastic deformation in amorphous metallic glass under high pressure, ultra-high strain rates, and short duration. © 2013 Chinese Physical Society and IOP Publishing Ltd.

The determination of copper in a novel material (fire smelting nickel substrate material) by spectrophotometry was proposed. In ammonium chloride-ammonium hydroxide buffer solution at pH 8.9-9.4, the stable chelate formed by bisoxaldihydrazone (BCO) and Cu2+ had maximum absorption wavelength at 600 nm. The determination of copper was interfered by matrix iron, nickel, chromium and cobalt. However, after the sample was dissolved in hydrochloric acid, nitric acid and hydrofluoric acid and chromium volatilized with hydrochloric acid, the interference could be eliminated by matrix matching and citric acid masking method. The content of copper in four actual samples was determined by this method with relative standard deviation in the range of 1.4%-4.0%. The atomic absorption spectrometry was used for comparison analysis. Meanwhile, the samples were also determined in three other laboratories, and the results were basically consistent.

Through studying chemical composition and nature of submerged arc furnace slag of pyrometallurgical nickel substrate material, the experimental method for trace/micro nickel was determined. Because the silica content in the samples was 40% to 65%, the sample was difficult to be dissolved, and there was serious negative interference on the determination of nickel. Adequate amount of hydrofluoric acid was required to be added to the samples in the process of dissolving the sample, so that the silica would generate SiF4 to be removed by heating. The rest coexisting ions in the solution were mainly Mg2+,Ca2+, Fe3+,A13+,Cr6+, etc, among which Ca2+ had positive interference on the determination of nickel. By adding the same amount of Ca2+ to the blank solution, the interference was eliminated. Perchloric acid was the best medium, and when the acid concentration was controlled at 3% to 5%, the measured data was stable. The detection limit of the method was proved to be 0.0012 mg/L. Through the analysis of nickel in four actual samples of submerged arc furnace slag of pyrometallurgical nickel substrate material, the recoveries was 99% to 102%, and the relative standard deviation was in the range of 1.3% to 2.9%. The results are consistent with ICP-AES analysis results.

Tabular corundum was used as the aggregates, and two kinds of cheap and highly reactive raw materials including clay and SiO2 powder were used as the SiO2 resources for synthesis mullite matrix, so that the mullite-corundum composite refractory was prepared by reactive sintering to reduce the cost of mullite sintering and to obtain ideal microstructures. For the sintered sample using clay as the SiO2-containing raw material, mullite synthesized amount is lower than the academic amount, but the mullite synthesized temperature is lower, and the mullite synthesized reaction is finished before 1550°C. The microstructure is more homogeneous with rod-shaped mullite grains. The sintering degree is better. For the sintered samples with SiO2 powder as the raw material of matrix, the amount of synthesized mullite is increased continuously with the increasing of sintering temperature and reaches to a complete mullitization at 1650°C. The granular mullite grains in the matrix tend to aggregate. The microstructure is dense but loose in local regions. The latter has higher strength but lower thermal shock resistance than the former.
