Principle of the Laser Doppler Velocimetry (LDV) and Adaptive Phase Doppler Velocimetry(APV) system was summarized and the flow field of water mist produced by dust reduction nozzle was measured. Experiment results show that the particle size of water mist is reduced, the range along radial direction, total volume flux of water mist and air in the jet flow is increased as work pressure of the nozzle increased. In the main body of the jet flow, the attenuation of axial velocity both in axial and radial direction is gentle, the radial and tangential velocity have single peak distribution in radial direction, and the efficiency of dust reduction is improved by swirling water jet.

The main purpose of this paper is to design a pulse-width-modulated (PWM) pulse power supply to test the performance of the solenoid valve. In order to achieve this purpose, from hardwave stage, one of the main part of designing is to use a microcontroller unit (MCU) as the core in the control system cooperating with the functional generator chip MAX038 and SG3525 to output the desired PWM waveform. From the softwave stage, the output voltage amplitude, frequency and duty cycle of the testing power supply convert in the specified ranges according to the cycle of continuous change through modular software, which is a great way to meet various types of solenoid valves simulation in actual working conditions. The power has been applied successfully and effectively to the solenoid valve manufacturing enterprises. ©2010 IEEE.

Laser shocking peening is a widely applied surface treatment technique that can effectively improve the fatigue properties of metal parts. We observe many micro-scale arc plastic steps on the surface of Zr47.9Ti 0.3Ni3.1Cu39.3Al9.4 metallic glass subjected to the ultra-high pressure and strain rate induced by laser shock peening. The scanning electronic microscopy and atomic force microscopy show that the arc plastic step (APS) has an arc boundary, 50-300 nm step height, 5-50 μm radius and no preferable direction. These APSs have the ability to accommodate plastic deformation in the same way as shear band. This may indicate a new mechanism to accommodate the plastic deformation in amorphous metallic glass under high pressure, ultra-high strain rates, and short duration. © 2013 Chinese Physical Society and IOP Publishing Ltd.

The determination of copper in a novel material (fire smelting nickel substrate material) by spectrophotometry was proposed. In ammonium chloride-ammonium hydroxide buffer solution at pH 8.9-9.4, the stable chelate formed by bisoxaldihydrazone (BCO) and Cu2+ had maximum absorption wavelength at 600 nm. The determination of copper was interfered by matrix iron, nickel, chromium and cobalt. However, after the sample was dissolved in hydrochloric acid, nitric acid and hydrofluoric acid and chromium volatilized with hydrochloric acid, the interference could be eliminated by matrix matching and citric acid masking method. The content of copper in four actual samples was determined by this method with relative standard deviation in the range of 1.4%-4.0%. The atomic absorption spectrometry was used for comparison analysis. Meanwhile, the samples were also determined in three other laboratories, and the results were basically consistent.
