The necessity of having instruments for analyzing the quality of the signal received by the RFID reader from the transponder is more and more important in order to evaluate the performance metrics and operational parameters of RFID systems. This paper proposes an automatic test procedure for an extended and accurate evaluation of the angular dependence of RFID systems, considering the relative angular position between reader and transponder, and presents an automated platform implemented for this purpose and the measurement results for various transponders. © 2015 IEEE.
