This article conducts mechanical analysis of billiards and studies its motion laws. For convenience, only situations as the ball arm bats the billiards in the horizontal direction are considered. Besides, collision between one billiard ball and another or between a ball and the "KEXING" is assumed to be elastic. The following cases are quantitatively analyzed based on the rigid body dynamics theory: the "Safety zone" to prevent the slider and rod drop when the ball arm hits the cur ball; the principle and function of fixed rod ball, push rod ball, tie rod ball and side spinning ball; the relative motion between the white billiard and the mesa; the Kinematic relation when the white billiard collides with the aim billiard; the Kinematic relation when the white billiard collides with the "KEXING". By analyzing the dynamic characteristics of billiards sport, this article provides guidance for players with a scientific batting and helps to correct the misunderstanding in billiards theory. Except for providing theoretical material for this popular indoor recreation project, this study can also offer a mathematical model of billiards for the future designers and developers of billiards games to make it closer to the real motion. © 2005 - 2013 JATIT & LLS. To improve the stability and precision of noncircular manufacture process, the variable spindle speed turning is applied to noncircular turning process. The variable spindle turning system is designed. The character of variable spindle speed is analyzed. The linear servo unit available for variable speed noncircular turning process is designed. An active disturbance rejection control technique is applied to servo unit. The experiment results show that surface quality and tracking error of variable spindle speed noncircular turning are better than constant speed machining. The linear servo unit is able to track the desired trajectory of cutting tool motion. © (2012) Trans Tech Publications.

The dynamic evolution of Riemann-Silberstein (RS) vortices for Gaussian vortex beams with topological charges m = ± 1 in free space is studied. It is shown that for Gaussian on-axis vortex beams there exist both RS vortex with m = + 2 and circular edge dislocation. For Gaussian off-axis vortex beams the circular edge dislocation splits into two RS vortices with opposite topological charges m = ± 1 and the RS vortex with m = + 2 decays into two vortices with same topological charges m = + 1. The motion of RS vortices takes place by varying the propagation distance, waist width, off-axis parameter, or topological charge. RS vortices for Gaussian vortex-free beams can be treated as a special case. The results are illustrated analytically and numerically. © 2011 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Ultra-low-density porous nickel-based composites were fabricated utilizing nickel/polystyrene (Ni/PS) composite powders prepared by electroless nickel plating and pore former according to certain proportion by spark plasma sintering (SPS) technology. The micro-morphology, phase structure and mechanical properties of the samples were characterized by transmission electron microscope (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and materials testing machine, respectively. The results indicate that the size of PS microspheres is 50~80 nm and the apparent density of the ultra-low-density porous nickel-based composite is as low as 0.25 g/cm3. Moreover, the composites possess good mechanical properties. © 2012 American Scientific Publishers.

Based on pedagogy, cognitive psychology, constructivist learning theory, supported by computer, the movement cognition learning strategy is put forward in experiment, which will achieve a Teacher-Student-Multimedia-multi-factor mutual teaching. This paper design the experiment, unvestigation question and achievement test to verify it. It proves that computer supported collaborative learning method increases the students interest in learning and skills in sports. The aim of this paper is to use fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (AHP) to select the best supplier firm providing the most satisfaction for the criteria determined. The purchasing managers of a white good manufacturer established in Turkey were interviewed and the most important criteria taken into account by the managers while they were selecting their supplier firms were determined by a questionnaire. Mitigation of metro train induced vibration and associated ground-xirne noise was achieved efficiently by special track measures. Those measures were categorized into three great kinds: fastener measure, sleeper measure, and basement measure. In recent years, more and more building owners and engineers are concerned about clients complaints about vibration and noise induced by metro trains, and variant measures are adopted in track design. The experience of operation departments revealed that the conventional design methods were deficient in enhancing the combinational dynamic property of coupled train-track system. They mainly focus on detailed type selection of track, fasteners, turnouts, track bed, and professional design of special tracks for different require-merits of environmental vibration mitigation. The computer simulation technology was introduced to study geometric and stiffness irregularity, transition sections, rail corrugation, and optimization of dynamic parameters of vibration isolation track in urban rail transit.

109Cd decays to the excited states of 109Ag through the electron capture decay mode. The evaluation of the complete decay scheme and data of 109Cd including the recent new measurements is presented in this report. The limitation of relative statistical weight method (LRSW) was applied to average numbers throughout the evaluation. The uncertainty assigned to the average value was always greater than or equal to the smallest uncertainty of the values used to calculate the average. The half-life is determined to be 462.0±0.3 days. All known measured absolute emission probabilities for gamma-ray and KX-ray have been examined. And the gamma-ray emission probability of the reference γ line of 88.0336 keV is recommended to be 3.65±0.3%. The internal conversion coefficients and their uncertainties were used to obtain the complete decay intensity balance. The other decay characteristics are calculated using the ENSDF analysis program. Finally the 109Cd decay scheme was given. © 2010 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
