A study was conducted to demonstrate the use of the nucleation fluctuation approach for estimating the high-temperature surface tension of the majority of metals, including alkali metal halides. Investigations revealed that clusters of thermodynamically stable phase were formed in the case of vapor-liquid first-order transition under supercooling. The study also demonstrated that cluster indifferent to temperature fluctuations (CITF) was cluster indifferent to thermodynamic fluctuations and the fluctuations of internal energy U. The findings of the study also revealed that alkali metal halides exhibited the ion-ion bond, while it was expected that the coefficient in formula 5 was to be different.

A simulation model for laser diode modulation by multichannel 64-QAM and 256-QAM TV signals is developed. The signal/noise (S/N) ratio is used as a criterion for evaluating the quality of TV signals. The effect of nonlinearity of the light-current characteristic on the S/N ratio is studied. Simulation results are presented in the form of a dependence of the maximum number of transmitted channels on the optical modulation depth with certain requirements for S/N. The simulation model is implemented in the object-oriented programming language Delphi 7. © 2015, Allerton Press, Inc.

The asymptotic behavior of the solution of the bending problem of plates with local shape perturbations (connections, ribs, holes comparable in size with the plate thickness) is studied in a three-dimensional formulation using the local perturbation method. The problem is completely decomposed into a two-dimensional problem of plate theory and local problems describing the threedimensional stress-strain state in the perturbation region. A dimensionless parameter is determined that relates the thermophysical and capillary characteristics of alkali metal halides. It is shown that the high-temperature surface tension of alkali metal halides can be determined from the results of the high-temperature measurements of specific heat in the temperature range up to their boiling points. © 2011 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

In this work, a method for statistical analysis of time series is proposed, which is used to obtain solutions to some classical problems of mathematical statistics under the only assumption that the process generating the data is stationary ergodic. Namely, three problems are considered: goodness-of-fit (or identity) testing, process classification, and the change point problem. For each of the problems a test is constructed that is asymptotically accurate for the case when the data is generated by stationary ergodic processes. The tests are based on empirical estimates of distributional distance. © 2006 IEEE.

The effect of the type of contacts between the wire sample and the current input leads on the excess current noise is investigated. The spectral characteristics of this noise and the current dependence of their spectral densities are determined. It is established that only a welded contact ensures that there is no excess noise voltage in the 20-200 kHz frequency range. © 2012 Springer Science+Business Media, Inc.

The place of the contrasting method among other methods of noise thermometry and its influence on the development of these methods is determined. The mathematical multiscale theories intensively developed in the last decades and collected high potential of theoretical methods. These methods are not completely used in engineering, although there exists a great variety of arguments evidently related to problems treated by the multiscale theories. The aim of this project is to give a contribution for closing this gap through joint work of mathematicians, mechanics and engineers. The specific goal of the project is to develop multiscale methods in nanotechnologies with orientation to prediction of new effects in complex structures as nano MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems). We hope that the effects found not only will demonstrate effectiveness of mathematical multiscale theories as method solution of applied problems but will lead to design new structures, materials and devices.
