The problem addressed by the present invention is to provide a novel method for separating and purifying pure enantiomer of lenalidomide. Pure enantiomer of lenalidomide can be separated and purified by using, as the mobile phase, an organic solvent selected from the group consisting of aprotic solvents, secondary alcohols, and mixtures thereof.

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a stick cosmetic that has a stick shape and a novel function that allows said stick cosmetic to be used to replenish moisture throughout the day. The present invention relates to a stick cosmetic for moisture replenishment, said stick cosmetic comprising: (A) 0.01-50 mass% of a fluid volatile oil component; (B) 10 mass% or more of water; (C) a wax that is capable of gelating the fluid volatile oil component; (D) a silicone elastomer; and (E) a silicone-based surfactant. The cosmetic of the present invention preferably further comprises (F) a moisturizing agent. The cosmetic of the present invention is suitable for use in touching up makeup and has a stick shape that exhibits excellent portability.


The present invention addresses the problem of providing a novel method for the pretreatment of a biological sample containing lenalidomide enantiomer and thereby establishing a simple and accurate method for the quantitative analysis of lenalidomide enantiomer. In the present invention, the racemization and decomposition of lenalidomide enantiomer in a biological sample can be prevented by the deproteinization under acidic conditions of the biological sample containing lenalidomide enantiomer, and the lenalidomide enantiomer can be simply and accurately quantitatively analyzed by subjecting to HPLC the biological sample that has been pretreated in such a way.

The present application provides an oil-in-water type emulsified cosmetic which has the effect of beautifying the appearance of skin and also excels in emulsion stability. The present invention relates to a water-based cosmetic wherein a hydrophobic powder is directly dispersed in the water phase of the water-based cosmetic, the water-based cosmetic having the excellent smoothness, water resistance and cosmetic durability characteristic of hydrophobic powders, while maintaining the refreshing sensation of use that is inherent in water-based cosmetics. The invented water-based cosmetic is characterized by comprising: (A) 0.1 to 5 mass% of a polyether-modified silicone having an HLB (Si) of 5 to 14; (B) one or more hydrophilic thickeners; (C) a polyol and/or an ethyl alcohol; and (D) one or more hydrophobic powders chosen from among metal oxides hydrophobically treated without using a metal soap, hydrophobic organic powders and silicone powders; wherein the (D) hydrophobic powder is dispersed in the water phase.

The purpose of the present invention is to provide an oil-in-water emulsion composition exhibiting high UV-protective capabilities with which it is possible to uniformly and stably disperse a hydrophobized metal oxide into an inner phase (oil phase) without detracting from the inherent fresh sensation on use of an oil-in-water emulsion composition even when a high amount of the hydrophobized metal oxide is compounded therewith. In summary, the present invention is an oil-in-water emulsion composition characterized by including (A) 0.1-5 mass% of polyether-modified silicone having an HLB(Si) of 5-14, (B) one or more hydrophilic thickeners, (C) a metal oxide hydrophobized by an agent other than metal soap, and (D) nonvolatile oil other than silicone oil, the (C) hydrophobized metal oxide being present in the inner phase.


The present invention provides an intermediate composition enabling to prepare easily and steadily an -gel-containing O/W emulsion cosmetic that has a very small viscosity change over time and is excellent in emulsion stability, without using a cooling device that has a heavy burden on cost and the environment, and a production method thereof. An -gel intermediate composition consisting of (A) 20 to 80 mass% of a mixture containing one or more higher alcohols having 16 or more carbon atoms and a nonionic surfactant with an HLB value of 7 to 17 in the mole ratio of 3:2 to 5:1, and (B) 20 to 80 mass% of a mixture containing one or more water-soluble solvents having the IOB value of 1.5 to 3.5 and water in the mass ratio of 4:6 to 8:2, andwherein the composition is a liquid consisting of a bicontinuous microemulsion phase or a lamellar liquid crystal-dispersed bicontinuous microemulsion phase at 50 to 80 C and a solid at room temperature.

To appropriately evaluate skin spots by grasping a quality (characteristic) of the skin spots. A skin spot evaluation apparatus includes an area extracting unit that extracts skin spot areas corresponding to skin spots from a skin image obtained by photographing a skin of a subject; and an evaluation unit that analyzes, based on the skin spot areas extracted by the area extracting unit, at least one of the number of the skin spots, dimension of each of the skin spots and density of each of the skin spots, and generates data obtained by quantifying characteristic of the skin spots of the skin image using the analyzed result.


Provided are an evaluation method for objectively evaluating the glow of the skin, a skin glow improver, and a method for examining skin glow improvers. This method for evaluating the glow of the skin comprises assessing the specular reflectance and diffuse reflectance of skin after polarized light is applied to the surface of the skin, and determining that glow is present in the skin when prescribed conditions are satisfied. A skin glow improver is provided by combining an alkali metal salt of alkoxysalicylic acid and trimethylglycine. This method for examining skin glow improvers makes it possible, using a significant decrease in surface roughness as an indicator, to examine samples capable of improving the specular reflectance of the skin.
