A real-time and off-line substation fault analysis system is proposed based on the integration of fault records and protection information, and the corresponding software is developed. The format conversion between fault records and protection information is based on COMTRADE protocol. The technologies of analog low-pass filter and digital filter and the screening and compression methods of FFT and wavelet transformation are applied to preprocess the fault records for the integration of fault records and protection information. Two types of fault records are synthesized for fault calculation, which are then used to evaluate the behavior of protection devices and breakers. The practicability and validity are verified by its analytic results for a typical transmission line fault of a substation. Source

The brushless doubly fed induction machine (BDFIM) shows potential in replacing the wound rotor machines for certain industrial applications due to its higher reliability, a benefit of the absence of brush gears. This paper proposes an indirect stator-quantities control (ISC) strategy for the BDFIM. Theoretical derivation has been carried out to demonstrate the control principle for the proposed strategy. ISC provides the benefit of a simple structure, since it is implemented in two static reference frames and no rotating coordinate transformation is required. Furthermore, only two stator winding resistances are used, and therefore, the controller structure is less dependent on machine parameters. The experimental results of the prototype show the feasibility of the proposed strategy for the BDFIM. © 2013 IEEE. Source

Electrocardiogram (ECG) signals acquisition and processing is susceptible to power line interference, baseline drift noise. For the characteristics of electrocardiogram signal is mutually statistically independent with the interference signals, this paper proposes a FastICA algorithm based on negentropy-maximization to separate power line interference, baseline drift signal therefore effectively extract electrocardiogram signal and get the useful information. In this paper, the negentropy-maximization FastICA algorithm principle and extracting model was analyzed in detail, and finally through the experiment to extract ECG signal from the observed body surface signals. In the experiment, ECG signal mixed with power frequency interference, baseline drift noise is almost separated, useful ECG signal components get reservations, indicating that the scheme has good effect to extract the electrocardiogram signal. © 2012 Binary Information Press.
