FeS nanoparticle is prepared by a biological method. The size, morphology and structure of the FeS nanoparticle are characterized by the means of X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy. The anti-friction behavior of the FeS nanoparticle as a lubricating oil additive is evaluated in the engine oil by using a face-to-face contact mode. The worn surface is characterized by using the scanning electron microscopy and secondary ion mass spectroscopy in order to find the reasons resulting in the reduction of friction coefficient due to the addition of the FeS nanoparticle. The anti-friction mechanism of the FeS nanoparticle is elucidated based on the experimental results. © 2017 Elsevier B.V.

Today, most eye monitoring systems use cameras to capture eye images, which are called vedio-oculography systems (VOG). The basic elements of the VOG system are eyes, cameras and lights [1]. Especially, the location of the camera to eyes is very important. In this paper, the location of the single camera under the natural light was modeled. And the model was computed and simulated on the Matlab platform. Then, the eyes moving images were sampled by the camera In-Sight Micro 1020 from the Cognex Company to analyze the reasonable position of the camera. Test results show that the single camera should locate at the side of one eye within 40o, or it couldn't sample clear eye moving images. This conclusion provides a reference to the further development of the actual VOG system. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

To elucidate the micromechanics of pulmonary edema has been a significant medical concern, which is beneficial to better guide ventilator settings in clinical practice. In this paper, we present an adjoining two-alveoli model to quantitatively estimate strain and stress of alveolar walls in mechanically ventilated edematous lungs. The model takes into account the geometry of the alveolus, the effect of surface tension, the lengthtension properties of parenchyma tissue, and the change in thickness of the alveolar wall. On the one hand, our model supports experimental findings (Perlman CE, Lederer DJ, Bhattacharya J. Am J Respir Cell Mol Biol 44: 34-39, 2011) that the presence of a liquid-filled alveolus protrudes into the neighboring air-filled alveolus with the shared septal strain amounting to a maximum value of 1.374 (corresponding to the maximum stress of 5.12 kPa) even at functional residual capacity; on the other hand, it further shows that the pattern of alveolar expansion appears heterogeneous or homogeneous, strongly depending on differences in air-liquid interface tension on alveolar segments. The proposed model is a preliminary step toward picturing a global topographical distribution of stress and strain on the scale of the lung as a whole to prevent ventilator-induced lung injury. © 2014 the American Physiological Society.

This paper reports a precise design and development for ecg signal generator for testing and calibration of the electrocardiogram equipment, ecg signal processing system and heart teaching tool. It can create a guideIIsignal of time and profile features lead II signal across a range of ecg drawings of heart rate within 45 to 185 devices in the first device of steps. This can be set up 15 ∼ the QRS 45 years old lady with a lady who resolution. P, T wave amplitude can be adjusted from 1-100% to 1% of the total of the amplitude QRS complex resolution. A color LCD touch screen is able to provide the user with input parameters facilities, depending on the output waveform parameter and a graphical representation of the output waveform. Signal generator outputting signal of poor precision through digital simulation stage using low noise design provides accurate signal amplitude QRS the lower end of the technology range. © 2011 Published by Elsevier Ltd.

Balance capacity's test could offer some valuable datum, when the adjustment of suitability or the evaluation of rehabilitation training is made for the wearer of low limb. In the research, based on FFT, the datum of the track of the body gravity movement are processed to acquire datum of amplitude-frequency of the track of body gravity movement, thus an index of evaluation for body's balance capacity can be gotten. © 2015 IEEE.

For the computer-control system, it puts forward a new way of measurement technique, which makes full use of combination of three technologies about collecting of body gravity center, analyzing of body balance capacity and SCM control. The position of body gravity center can be calculated by body gravity which is taken from weight sensors. Meanwhile, the position of body gravity will be sent to control unit, which can be transformed to driving signal of motor. And the sliding table with laser, linked to motor, can make pursuit movement following with body gravity. By the system, the off distance from body gravity center to vertical plane is measured to make a right adjustment, when we make analyze and regulation of suitability for prosthesis and orthotics. © 2015 IEEE.

The local existence and uniqueness of weak shock solution in steady supersonic potential flow passing along a 2-dimensional wedge were discussed. The free boundary problem was transferred to a fixed boundary problem by part-hodograph transform. Then by choosing a proper multiplier and integrating by parts, the energy estimation of the linear Goursat problem of the hyperbolic equation can be carried out in an easier way.

Macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) is an important proinflammatory and immunoregulatory mediator, which locates at the apex of the cascade of innate immune response. It also plays an important role in regulating adaptive immune responses and counter-regulating the immunosuppressive effect of glucocorticoid. MIF is actively involved in a series of cell processes such as cell proliferation and differentiation as well as cell apoptosis. MIF is reported to regulate the host immune response to parasitic infection. Interestingly, the ortholog of mammalian MIF was identified in multiple parasites such as Plasmodium spp., Leishmania major, Brugia malayi and so on, which is actively involved in the regulation of host-pathogen interaction and therefore provides a novel immune evasion mechanism. Therefore, development of small molecular inhibitors and vaccines against MIF will pave a new avenue for the prevention and treatment of related parasitic diseases.

In this work, a model of evolution of hepatitis B cirrhosis based on catastrophe theory was put forward, Witch can reveal the evolution of cirrhosis and then help develop effective treatment programs. The mechanism of interaction among antigen, antibody, and B cells was researched in the immunization model of hepatitis B virus. Based on the feature of hepatitis B cirrhosis, the model of hepatitis B virus immunization was improved, and an evolutionary model of hepatitis B cirrhosis was proposed. © 2011 Published by Elsevier Ltd.

Emerging evidence shows that interleukin (IL)-10 gene polymorphisms can regulate its expression level and thus influence person's susceptibility to preeclampsia. However, various published results were inconsistent. To explore the association between maternal IL-10 gene polymorphisms and preeclampsia, we performed a meta-analysis based upon 11 individual studies here. Our meta-analysis results indicated that IL-10 -819C/T (C versus T, OR = 1.28, 95% CI = 1.08-1.50, P = 0.003) and -592C/A (C versus A, OR = 1.28, 95% CI = 1.03-1.59, P = 0.03) polymorphisms were associated with preeclampsia. Although there was no overall association between -1082A/G polymorphism and preeclampsia (G versus A, OR = 0.93, 95% CI = 0.77-1.13, P = 0.49), such association existed among Asian (G versus A, OR = 1.29, 95% CI = 1.04-1.60, P = 0.02) and South American (G versus A, OR = 0.72, 95% CI = 0.54-0.94, P = 0.02) populations in the subgroup analysis stratified by continents. © 2014 The Authors.
