Relay protection software faces many problems with the rapid development of smart grid. To solve them, this paper puts forward the concept of relay protection integrated application platform. Two key issues of the platform, i.e., data management mechanism and data model, are discussed in detail. There are exchanges and dependencies between different kinds of data for various relay protection businesses. And the timeliness of the data is inconsistent. So a three-dimensional distributed data management mechanism is developed. Relay protection application data model extends on the basis of RDF. A distributed relay protection integrated application platform compatible with international standards of smart grid, such as IEC61970, is constructed. Actual operation in Shandong power grid proves that it has strong versatility and practicality and complies with the development of smart grid. Actual operation also proves that it is an effective means to improve labor productivity and promote the power grid safety production and management modernization. Source
