This paper investigates the stability of a class of switched linear systems, and proposes a number of new results on the stability analysis. A novel analysis method is developed by using the 2-norm technique, and then several stability results are obtained based on the new analysis method. It is shown that the main results obtained in this paper not only guarantee the stability of the systems under arbitrary switching, but also provide an algorithm to find the minimum dwell time (MDT) with which switches make the switched systems stable. Finally, several illustrative examples with numerical simulations are studied by using the results obtained in this paper. The study of examples shows that our analysis method works very well in analyzing the stability of some classes of switched linear systems and, moreover, it has some advantages over the common quadratic Lyapunov function method in some cases. Narasimhan incorporated fuzzy set theory within goal formulation in 1980. Since then, much research has been performed in this field, and various models for solving fuzzy goal programming have been proposed. One of the well-known models was proposed by Tiwari et al. in 1987 [19], where an additive model was proposed. This paper is an extension to the Tiwari et al. model that deals with the sum of weighted negative deviations between the desirable achievement degree and the common target. Here, properties of the model are proposed. A numerical example is also given to illustrate the approach. © 2012 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

A series of non-precious metal oxides catalysts were prepared for low-temperature selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NOx with NH3 in a fixed bed reactor. The catalytic performance was evaluated by the removal efficiency of NOx and N2 selectivity which were respectively detected by flue gas analyzer and flue gas chromatograph. Furthermore, the components of gas products from the above experiments were analysed with 2010 GC-MS. The results illustrated that the MnO2 exhibited the highest NOx conversion to 95.46% and the highest selectivity of N2 to 100% at temperature of 393K, then followed ZrO2, Al2O3 and Fe2O3. © (2012) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

This paper proposed a reference model of independent SaaS platform. Firstly, SaaS software's technical architecture is discussed. Secondly, SaaS platform's responsibilities are analyzed and the infrastructure components of independent SaaS platform are presented. We propose a concept of multi-tenant architecture. Both the vendor and the user pay for using the platform in an on-demand fashion. Finally, we summarize the advantages of independent third-party SaaS platform. By such a SaaS platform various vendors will profit greatly and customers will get the best software services. © 2010 IEEE.

Various types of integrals with respect to fuzzy measure on finite sets in the literature (Grabisch et al., Fuzzy Measures and Integrals. Theory and Applications, Heidelberg, Germany, 2000; Wang et al., Int J Intell Syst 2006; 21:1073-1092; Wang and Klir, Int J Uncertainty, Fuzziness knowl-based Syst 1997;5(2):163-175; Wang and Klir, Fuzzy Measures Theory, New York; Plenum, 1992) have been proposed, including Choquet integral, pan-integral, the upper integral, and the lower integral. In this paper, we present the relationships between these different types of integrals. The sufficient and necessary conditions for the equality between these integrals are discussed. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

The spin crossover (SCO) compound [Fe(pmea)(NCS) 2] (where pmea symbolizes the ligand bis[(2-pyridyl)methyl]-2-(2-pyridyl)ethylamine) has been studied by DFT/TD-DFT methods. Several density functionals and basis sets were used in the calculations to obtain optimized geometries of the compound in the low-(LS), intermediate-(IS) and high-spin (HS) states. The vibrational modes and IR spectra, spin splittings energies, excited states and UV/vis absorption spectra were calculated. From the TD-DFT calculations, it can be inferred that this complex may act as a reversible optical switch via the LIESST effect and its reverse process. © 2012 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

This paper investigates the problem of chaos control, and proposes a simple adaptive feedback control method for it under a reasonable assumption. In comparison with previous methods, the present control technique is simple both in the form of the controller and in its application. Presented manuscript investigates the current sustainability research within the automotive industry, through a comprehensive review of the different studies in vehicles' life cycle, disposal and end of life analyses, and the different sustainability metrics and models used to quantify the environmental impact. The sustainability research in this study targets the measures and studies at the three basic elemental levels involved; environmental, economic, and societal. The presented review categorizes the literature into four main research areas; the life cycle assessment approach, the end-of-life perspective, the design for X, and the light-weight engineering and material selection studies. Also, the text attempts to draw the link between these research themes and expose any inter-relationships, and discuss the physics behind some of the sustainability models presented to analyze the automobile sustainability. © 2012 Elsevier Ltd.
