Nanocellulose has became the frontier and hotspots of cellulose science, which is a kind of natural materials with renewable and biodegradable properties. The literatures, NSFC's foundation projects and patents regarding nanocellulose from 2001 to 2015 were analyzed in order to understand the domestic research progress and application status of nanocellulose, and the search keywords were “Nanocrystalline cellulose, Nanofibrillated cellulose, Microfibrillated cellulose, Bacterial cellulose & nano”. A total of 902 papers during 2001 to 2015 in CNKI, Wanfang Data, SCIE, EI and SIPO were retrieved. The retrieved results showed that the number of articles increased significantly after 2011, and the research on nanocellulose entered fast-growing stage. The number of patents on nanocellulose has gradually increased since 2010, especially for the patents of nanocrystalline cellulose and bacterial cellulose. The number of NSFC foundation projects on nanocellulose increased rapidly in 2011. © 2016, China National Pulp and Paper Research Institute(CNPPRI). All right reserved.

The impact of different types of small particle size SB latex on the properties of top coating of the art paper using the coatings formulation with 100% GCC and the physical properties of the coated paper were studied in this paper. The results showed that compared to the coatings formulations containing clay, the formulation of GCC maintained a lower high shear viscosity. The impact of temperature on the delignification rate is higher than on the cellulose degradation rate at the initial stage of oxygen delignification, and there is little difference of the impacts on the delignification rate and cellulose degradation rate at the end of oxygen delignification process. The influence of oxygen process on delignification rate is lower than cellulose degradation rate at the initial stage of oxygen delignification, there is little difference of the influences on both delignification and cellulose degradation rates. The impacts of 0H~ concentration on the delignification rate and cellulose degradation rate are similar, however, its impact on cellulose degradation rate is higher at the end of delignification process. Base on this, three different designs of delignification process are analyzed and compared. The factors which impact the oxygen delignification efficiency are not only limited to these in the actual production. The pulp carried over to oxygen delignification stage is also very important.

In this study, we employed nanocrystalline cellulose (NCC) as an efficient dispersant to perpare alkyl ketene dimer (AKD) emulsion. The particle size and zeta potential of AKD/NCC emulsion were measured, which were approximately 5 m and -50 mV, respectively. The surface-sized paper possessed multiple barriers properties. The air permeability of surface-sized paper was 0.29 m/Pas and the sizing degree reached 42 s when the amount of sizing was 12.58 g/m(2) with a 96.83% decrease and a 40.00%, increase, respectively. Furthermore, the mechanical properties were optimal when the amount of sizing was about 8 g/m(2). AKD/NCC emulsion acted as a good reinforcing agent in surface-sized paper.

This paper described the technological principle of Fenton fluidized-bed oxidation techniques. The advantages of Fenton fluidized-bed techniques including higher pollutant removal rate, lower chemicals consumption and sludge production comparing with the traditional Fenton oxidation process were discussed. The CODCr removal rate could reach more than 90% and the color removal rate more than 99% of the pulping and papermaking effluent firstly treated with biological process then followed by Fenton fluidized-bed oxidation advanced treatment.
