In order to reduce the development time and costs, and to meet the demands of simulation for variable load loading of nuclear emergency diesel generator sets, a co-simulation environment based on GT-power and Matlab/Simulink is built, which is the basis of the establishment for the transient simulation model of a diesel engine according to load characteristics of the nuclear power plant reactor safety shutdown, and the incremental PID control scheme of nuclear emergency diesel generator sets in the speed control system is presented at the same time. The change of parameters such as rotation speed, fuel injection quantity and the rack position is predicted through the simulation of loading on the diesel engine at different times, and the comparison between calculation results and MAN Diesel and Turbo illustrates that this simulation model is practicable and good in dynamic characteristics. ©, 2015, Editorial Board of Journal of HEU. The casting process of a warship engine crankcase was briefly introduced. The cause of slag inclusion at the edge of lower cylinder bore and pump hole on crankcase was analyzed. The second slag inclusion of the heavy ductile iron crankcase casting was successfully removed by the following measures: decreasing S content of original iron melt and nodulizer addition, increasing the pouring temperature, replacing the enlarged runner system by the non-pressurized gating system. ©, 2014, Zhuzao/Foundry. With resin sand good heat preservation properties, minimum mold thickness at 200 mm, and carbon 3.6% -3.8%, manganese ≤0.1%, final silicon 2.8%-2.9%, pouring temperature at 1 355-1 365℃, heat preservation for 250 h in mould, more than 90% ferrite can be obtained for a large marine diesel engine body casting. The tensile strength is not less than 390 MPa, the elongation is not less than 14%, Brinell hardness is HBW 135-185, at the same time the maximum residual stress in the ±50 N/mm2 range of machine body cylinder hole, camshaft hole region I, the maximum residual stress in ±100 N/mm2 of the internal ribs regional II and region III, the purpose of relief normal stress annealing was obtained. ©, 2015, Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society.
