BACKGROUND: Bone tissue engineering plays a very important role in the repair of bone defects, which can deliver bioactive substances, promote bone tissue growth and repair bone defects. Bone scaffolds act as one of the three elements of bone tissue engineering. Three-dimensional (3D) printing technology can achieve individualized bone tissue repair through customized artificial bone preparation. OBJECTIVE: To analyze the biological characteristics of several commonly used bone tissue engineering scaffolds and to explore the application of 3D printing technique in the construction of bone tissue engineering scaffolds. METHODS: The literatures of PubMed and Wanfang database related to bone tissue engineering scaffold materials and 3D printing technology were retrieved from 2005 to 2016. The Keywords were “tissue engineering scaffold, bone defects, polymer materials, bioceramics, metal materials, composite materials, 3D printing” in English and Chinese, respectively, which would appear simultaneously in title and abstract. Repetitive articles were excluded and finally 65 articles were included in result analysis. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: The commonly used bone tissue engineering scaffold materials include polymer materials (natural and macromolecule polymeric materials), bioceramics, and metal materials. According to the characteristics of the materials, composite materials made of different materials can compensate for the shortcomings of a single material, and then developed into new tissue engineering scaffold materials. For the tissue engineering bone production, 3D printing technologies include melt deposition technology, selective laser sintering technology, low temperature deposition manufacturing technology, and etc. When the 3D printing technology is used to prepare a bone tissue engineering scaffold, the use of powder or adhesive must have limited conditions, such as flowability, stability and wettability. Powder materials used for 3D printing can be divided into synthetic polymers, natural macromolecules, bioceramics and their mixtures, with different advantages and disadvantages. Ultimately, the bone engineering scaffolds produced by 3D printing technology have unique advantages in mechanics, structure and individuality, and have wide application prospect in the manufacture of bone scaffolds. © 2017, Journal of Clinical Rehabilitative Tissue Engineering Research. BACKGROUND: The continuous improvement of stem cell transplantation and understanding of the traditional Chinese medicine theory can strengthen the research regarding the effect of nourishing kidney drugs on the differentiation of stem cells. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the interventional effect of nourishing kidney drugs on stem cell culture and transplantation. METHODS: The relative studies on different categories of single herb or compound nourishing kidney drugs for the proliferation, differentiation and induction of stem cells during stem cell transplantation for the treatment of diseases were collected to analyze the experimental data, and to evaluate the interventional effect of nourishing kidney drugs on the stem cell culture and transplantation based on serum pharmacology. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: According to the basic research on nourishing kidney drugs and stem cells, and based on the existing new theory, the basic theoretical research was deepened continuously, in order to provide scientific theoretical guidance for the research on nourishing kidney drugs and stem cells. Based on the researches on the proliferation, differentiation and transdifferentiation mechanism of stem cells, the nourishing kidney drugs that could regulate stem cell growth were screened out. Then, combined with the achievement obtained from the clinical application, the single herb or compound nourishing kidney drugs were selected targetedly, and the interventional effect of the drugs on stem cell transplantation in the treatment of major diseases was analyzed.

Objection: the research of The effect of nasal septum deviation on the new technology of the treatment of maxillary sinus cyst. Way: 61 patients with maxillary sinus cyst were selected from patients with CT scan, and were divided into two groups. Group one includes 32 patients with Maxillary sinus cyst(treatment group). Group two uses 29 Patients with nasal septum deviation of maxillary sinus cyst as a comparison(matched group). These two group Adopt the surface anesthesia or local anesthesia, Under the conventional via nasal passages or labial gingival sulcus second incisor puncture, let the needle get into the cyst and then extract the fluid. According to the number of the fluid, inject our invention patent medicine by the ratio of 2:1(the fluid was 2ml, the drug was 1ml, and the main component of the drug was the super oxidation of iodine atoms). After two months' treatment, taking the CT scan for the two groups' patients in order to observe their effect respectively. Results: the patients in treatment group were all cured by taking 1-2 times' new way. Among the matched group, 5 patients were cured and 25 patients get better. The cure rate and the effective rate of the treatment group and the control group have the statistically significance (p<0.05, p<0.01). conclusion: The research shows that the nasal septum is an important factor that affects the curative effect of the treatment of maxillary sinus cyst. Before treatment, the treatment and correction of nasal septum deviation should be first considered to provide ideas and methods for the comprehensive treatment of the relevant deviation of nasal septum, maxillary sinus cyst. © 2015 IEEE.

May-Thurner syndrome (MTS) is caused by venous occlusion because of compression of the iliac vein by the iliac artery and vertebral body, leading to left lower extremity deep venous thrombosis, eventually resulting in a series of symptoms. Endovascular treatment has now become the most preferred method of treatment of MTS. The authors report a 66-year-old woman who was hospitalized because of increasing swelling in her left lower limb for almost 2 weeks. Ultrasonography performed upon admission indicated MTS, and venography revealed occlusion of the left common iliac vein and massive thrombosis in the left external iliac and femoral veins. The left lower extremity venous blood flow returned to normal after the patient underwent manual aspiration thrombectomy using a guide catheter, followed by balloon angioplasty and stent placement. The patient achieved complete remission after 1 week and had no in-stent restenosis during the 1-year follow-up. Endovascular treatment is a safe and effective treatment of MTS. Objective: Minimally invasive and nasal endoscopic treatment of maxillary sinus cyst comparison of the two methods. Methods: The 68 cases of maxillary sinus cyst patients were randomly divided into two groups, Observation group 27 cases: The minimally invasive group; Control group: 41 cases were nasal endoscopy group. According to the location of the cyst with these three operation method: (1) Nasal passages in maxillary sinus natural caliber; (2) Inferior meatus fenestration; (3) Middle meatus and inferior meatus combined approaches. The five indexes in two groups were observed in the mean length of hospital stay, the average cost of hospitalization, postoperative complications, postoperative discomfort, patient satisfaction. Result: Observation group without hospitalization, in the average hospitalization expenses, postoperative complications, postoperative discomfort, patient satisfaction indicators were better than the control group (P≤0.05). Conclusion: Minimally invasive treatment of maxillary sinus cyst was safe, effective and superior to the control group. © 2014 Trade Science Inc. - INDIA.

Leucine-rich-repeat-containing G-protein-coupled receptor 5 (lgr5) is a candidate marker for colorectal cancer stem cells (CSC). In the current study, we investigated the methylation status within thelgr5 promoter and evaluated its relationship with CSC differentiation, prognosis for colorectal cancer, and its clinicopathological features.The methylation status within Lgr5 promoter was detected with a methylation-specific PCR in six colorectal cancer cell lines as well as 169 primary colorectal tumor tissues. Differentiation of CSC was examined with immunofluorescence and immunocytochemistry. Down-regulation of lgr5 was achieved with gene-specific siRNA. The associations between lgr5 methylation and the clinicopathological features as well as survival of patients were analyzed with statistical methods.The lgr5 promoter was methylated to different degrees for the six colorectal cell lines examined, with complete methylation observed in HCT116 cells in which the lgr5 expression was partially recovered following DAC treatment. The stem-cell sphere formation from HCT116 cells was accompanied by increasing methylation within the lgr5 promoter and decreasing expression of lgr5. Knocking down lgr5 by siRNA also led to stem-cell spheres formation. Among primary colorectal tumors, 40% (67/169) were positive for lgr5 methylation, while none of the normal colon tissues were positive for lgr5 methylation. Furthermore, lgr5 methylation significantly associated with higher tumor grade, and negative distant metastasis (p < 0.05), as well as better prognosis (p = 0.001) in patients with colorectal cancer.Our data suggests that lgr5 methylation, through the regulation of lgr5 expression and colorectal CSC differentiation, may constitute a novel prognostic marker for colorectal cancer patients.

BACKGROUND: The macromolecular biomaterial, chitosan membrane (CM) with low immunogenicity, can be resolved and generally used in the field of soft tissue adhesion. But the orbit included much subtle texture and owned the minor space, the application of CM in the orbit has not been general at present. OBJECTIVE: To observe the influence and mechanism of CM in prevention and treatment of soft tissue adhesion after orbital trauma. METHODS: A total of 10 rabbits with 20 orbits were randomly divided into two groups, namely, CM group and control group. The adhesion models of rabbits were established first, then the adhesion tissues were separated after two weeks, and CM about 15 mm×15 mm were implanted between the lesion and periost. The CM was not used in the control group. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Four weeks after experiment, the adhesion degree was lower in the CM group than the control group (P < 0.01). The quantity of fibroblasts in unit area and absorbance value in unit area of collagen fibers were both significantly lower in the CM group than the control group (P < 0.01). Relative area of collagen fibers was also lower in the CM group as compared with the control group (P < 0.01). The structures of retina and optic nerve were not changed in histopathology. CM can inhibit the proliferation of fibroblasts, and decrease the synthesis of collagen fibers, which is effective on preventing adhesion after the orbital trauma. And it has no effect to the retina and optic nerve.

With MS Excel, SPSS, Cytoscape software, we took MeSH (Medical Subject Headings) word frequency analysis, clustering analysis, co-word network graph of PubMed papers. Results: It shows that the Punctures to ICH research hotspots had focus on lumbar puncture and hematoma, Stereotaxic Techniques, Stereotaxic Techniques, etc, also the most importance of which was the lumbar puncture. © 2014 Trade Science Inc. - INDIA.

The aim of the present study was to determine the effect of different concentrations of mitomycin C (MMC) administered intraoperatively during laser-assisted subepithelial keratectomy (LASEK) surgery. A total of 261 patients (496 eyes) were randomly divided into two groups: 0.04% MMC treatment group consisting of 133 patients (245 eyes) and the 0.02% MMC treatment group consisting of 128 patients (251 eyes). The MMC solutions were dropped intraoperatively onto the ablation region and the duration was dependent on the preoperative refractive power of the patient's cornea: ≤-3.00 diopters (D), 30 sec; between-3.25 D and-6.00 D, 60 sec; between-6.25 D and-9.00 D, 90 sec and ≥-9.25 D, 110 sec. Postoperative observations included haze formation, visual acuity, changes in refractive power, corneal endothelial cell density and incidence of complications. The one year postoperative incidence of haze differed significantly between the groups (P<0.05). The one week and one year comparisons of postoperative visual acuity also differed significantly between the groups (P<0.05). Postoperative changes in corneal refractive power at one, six and 12 months following surgery significantly differed between the groups (P<0.05). No statistically significant difference was identified between the density of corneal endothelial cells prior to surgery and the density at one, six and 12 months following surgery (P>0.05). Thus, the intraoperative application of 0.04% MMC solution effectively inhibited haze formation and markedly improved the efficacy of LASEK surgery, when compared with that of 0.02% MMC.
