According to the limitations of desk microwave power measurement instruments used in system setup and product line field, a brand new minisize power measurement design based on USB interface is proposed. Firstly, the design principles of analog channel, digital signal processing and the USB interface for the power sensor is introduced. Then the design fundamental of the USB communication to the host is presented. The vivid implementation of the software on the DSP, USB firmware and the PC host is fully discussed. This design features small size, light weight and programmable USB interface, which supports the Interchangeable Virtual Instruments (IVI) driver and thus simplifies the program procedure. The PC based platform allows for lower cost than traditional power meters and power sensors, and with a laptop PC it is ideal for field portable power measurement and remote multi-channel monitoring applications using all kinds of USB hubs. © 2013 Trans Tech Publications Ltd, Switzerland.

Using the successful experience of Software Radio for reference, taking the generation and reception of the signal as research object, the general auto test platform is divided into several LXI test modules, which are mutually independent. The LXI digitizer module and the LXI Down-Converter module are selected as the platform of spectrum synthetic. In the design of its spectrum software design, the LabWindows/CVI is taken as the development tool, and the multi-thread technique is applied to ensure the running speed and response speed of the system. Finally, the synthetic of spectrum analysis is achieved, which lay the foundation of the practicality of the Synthetic Instrument.

An adjustable pulse module with FPGA-based 0.1 ns resolution is designed, which has the function of simultaneously generating multi-channel pulse. Various pulses time delay can be adjusted each other. Therefore it can improve the small target RCS (radar cross section) test accuracy under the complex environment. At present, the technology is successfully applied to a RCS tester. © 2013 IEEE.

Firstly, this paper introduces amplitude-phase characteristic test requirement and application of multi-channel phase coherent signal, and then puts emphasis on realizing accurate test for amplitude-phase coherence of multi-channel phase coherent signal with frequency tracking and vector error correction technology. Beginning with the test demand of frequency converter with embedded local oscillator in satellite, this paper, combining the technical feature of multifunctional vector network analyzer, puts forward a precise test method, which is based on frequency tracking and vector mixer calibration technique regarding the test requirement of group delay and conversion loss of frequency converter with embedded local oscillator. Through the result, we can see that the test method is accurate, feasible and can provide effective technical measures for the performance testing and evaluation of the frequency converter with embedded local oscillator in satellite. © 2015 IEEE.

A theoretic diagram of IF digitizer based on PXI bus is proposed in this paper. To be aimed at the hardware system, the principle of the WDM model is firstly introduced; the DriverWorks is adopted as the driver development tool to develop the corresponding WDM driver. Combining the request of the IF digitizer, several key problems are expatiated, including the method of I/O, memory mapping and accessing, the processing of interrupt as well as the Burst DMA transport method. After long time test, the IF digitizer works reliably, and the device driver can realize the high speed of transport. © 2015 IEEE.

The data acquisition system is an important way to obtain the original information, and it's an indispensable part of data receiving and analysis system. At present, with the improvement of bus technology and the level of devices internal integration technology, data acquisition technology is developing towards high-speed and multi-channel. High speed data acquisition has become one of the key factors restricting the signal processing. In radar, communication scientific experiments and other fields, all need to do large bandwidth high speed data acquisition. Based on the PCI bus interface and in accordance with the band pass sampling theorem, this paper selects the appropriate analog frequency and bandwidth, and determines the sampling rate of the system. This design scheme uses the high speed data acquisition + digital intermediate frequency processing, in which, the data acquisition front-end uses the method of two high resolution ADC cross acquisition to improve the sampling rate; digital intermediate frequency processing part uses the method of lower speed storage to be convenient for subsequent processing; and multi clock distribution unit uses the DCM adjustment to ensure the synchronous of the clock. Through the above theory and methods, final designs a data acquisition and processing system. The system has the dual channel synchronous acquisition function, and its maximum sampling rate is 500 MSPS, maximum bandwidth is 200MHz and the effective ADC bit is 16, which solves the problem of the acquisition and processing of large bandwidth high-speed signals, and improves the dynamic range of the test system. Install the dual channel data acquisition card into the multi function vector network analyzer to assemble the multi channel receiver, we further test and verify the design target of the data acquisition system. The test results show that, the data acquisition system has dual channel synchronous acquisition function, and its effective analog bandwidth can reach 200MHz. © 2015 IEEE.

Vector Network Analyzer is a type of widely used microwave measurement instrument. It can achieve high measurement accuracy for its calibration function. In Calibration, the instrument measures a series of calibration standards of which characteristics are known to quantify the error items of the instrument. The error will be corrected during measurement. The measurement accuracy is related to the accuracy of the calibration standards. Calibration standards will cause error for they are not perfect. Load standard is different from ideal match, so it is one of the most important factor to influence measurement accuracy. In this paper, the author illustrated the principle of single-port network measurement, and introduced error sources and calibration model. Then the author analyzed and calculated the measurement error when using fixed load standard. Afterward, the measurement error caused by slide load standard was analyzed. In the end, other factors affect measurement accuracy were pointed out. © 2015 IEEE.

In order to carry out more complex parameters measurement, the expression editor function is need to vector network analyzer. This paper explores a new method to carry out expression editor function of vector network analyzer. The expression editor allows user to input a complex algebraic expression of standard mathematical operators, complex numbers, custom parameters and functions, referencing data that is available in the vector network analyzer. If an improper algebraic expression is input, the expression editor will check errors and pop-up notations for user to amend the expression. If input expression is calculable, the display of the active trace of vector network analyzer is replaced with the results of the expression and updated in real-time. © 2015 IEEE.

This paper reports on the design and experiment of an broadband power sensor based on zero-biase diodes. High performance was achieved across the entire frequency band from 0.01GHz to 50GHz. Emphasis is on the design of the matching circuits using a new method. Other details during the realization of the microwave end such as the choice of diodes and the design of a high precision attenuator are also discussed. © 2012 IEEE.
