Using TBD to reduce the minimum detectable SNR can be used to detect weak targets of pulsed laser radar sensor. Firstly, the pretreatment measures are given to enhance the single frame SNR. Especially, with the width characteristic of laser target under high sampling rate, the down-sampling method is introduced, which can not only eliminate a large number of single-point noises, but also can solve the acquisition problem of relatively stationary or low-speed targets. Then the TBD algorithm based on HT is proposed. The airborne multi-pulse LADAR target signal simulator was studied based on signal model to evaluate the performance of laser echo signal processing algorithms and their digital hardware platform. Firstly, the main elements of target signal model and two definition of SNR were pointed out. Subsequently, based on the ladar equation and 1.064 μm laser radiation photoelectric receiver experiment, the signal waveform was obtained and the target signal composition was analized. The echo signal model was further established by the analysis of air target echo pulse broadening. Then, the method to generate echo signal according to SNR was proposed based on the RMS value standardization of echo noise samples. Finally, the implement of target signal simulator was given based on FPGA and high-speed D/A and USB2.0 data transmission, which could provide the echo signal and sync -signal of static and dynamic targets with the SNR of 1-9. In the airborne electro-optical system, laser action range is far less than the infrared detector. Firstly, the main factors that affect the detection range of pulsed LADAR were analyzed through the establishment of laser maximum range model, and points out that using TBD to reduce the minimum detectable SNR based on Hough transform is feasible. Secondly, the pretreatment measures of three pulses accumulation and binaryzation was introduced. Then, combining with the width characteristic of laser target at high sampling rate, the down-sampling method was given, which can not only eliminate a large number of single-point noises, but also solve the problem of low-speed target acquisition. Finally, the laser target TBD algorithm was proposed based on the online parameter space converging mapping which selected the samples through air target speed range. The experiments indicate that the algorithm has good detection performance at, and can meet the requirements of real-time target range in 10 Hz pulse frequency. Source
