Advanced Lipid Profile testing is a combination of laboratory investigations which provides a more direct and detailed lipid subfraction measurements. Some studies have claimed that this additional information on lipids could improve the ability to predict the risk assessment of cardiovascular disease from 40% (existing biochemical investigations) to more than 90% (advanced lipid profile testing ). Some of these tests include LDL phenotyping , Vertical auto profile test , Nuclear magnetic resonance test, Lipoprotein(a), Lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2. These additional biomarkers may offer a way to further evaluate the residual risk and could become secondary treatment targets to further lower risk. Source

Diabetes Mellitus is a predominant public health concern, affecting millions of people worldwide. Recently, it has been recognized that, increased body iron stores are associated with Type-2diabetes mellitus. Increased Serum Ferritin have been reported to negatively correlate with insulin sensitivity and the presence of insulin resistance syndrome. The relationship between iron metabolism and type 2 diabetes mellitus is bi-directional. Iron affects glucose metabolism and glucose metabolism impinges on several iron metabolic processes. Iron overload decreases insulin sensitivity and cause earlier complications in diabetes mellitus. This study attempts to evaluate the significance of serum ferritin level as an early predictor of type 2 diabetes mellitus and its relationship with HbA1c. Source

This study aims to address possible association between over usage of mobile phones and their effect on health, psychology and social participation of individuals and groups. We have tried to find out how arts and science students use their mobile phones during college hours and offcollege hours and what effect this has left on their health. The method of the study focuses on mobile phone dependency of 150 arts and science students who use mobile phones for calls, messaging and for internet surfing and suing the social media on their mobile phones. Statistical analysis shows that there is acute dependency of the students on mobile phones with symptoms of sleeplessness and stress disorders, distraction and decrease in social interaction. The study has made an association between the critical aspects of health, psychology and social stress and over use of mobile phones. Further studies would be needed to find out the use of mobile phone by students which minimize the ill effects. Source

This study was carried out in 60 adult ASA 1 & ASA 11 patients. to compare the sensory and motor blockade using plain Bupivacaine with normal saline(placebo) versus Plain Bupivacaine with dexmedetomidine. It was found that dexmedetomidine with bupivacaine in spinal anesthesia prolongs to the duration of sensory and motor bloc kade also the time interval required for supplemental analgesia. Source
