Cadmium zinc telluride (CdZnTe) thin films were grown on glass substrates by the chemical bath deposition. The films were annealed in air for 1 h at various temperatures (300 °C, 400 °C and 500 °C). The grown films were analyzed by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and UV spectra. X-ray diffraction studies reveal that films are polycrystalline in nature with rhombohedral structure. The structural parameters such as grain size, dislocation density and micro strain were evaluated. SEM analysis at high temperature indicates the hexagonal face like rod structure. Optical transmittance study shows the wide transmittance with the band gap energy decreasing, from 2 to 1.75 eV. © 2015 Elsevier GmbH. All rights reserved.

This paper investigates the robust reliable β-dissipative control for uncertain dynamical systems with mixed actuator faults via sampled-data approach. In particular, a more general reliable controller containing both linear and nonlinear parts is constructed for the considered system. Then, by applying the input delay approach, the sampling measurement of the digital control signal is transformed into time-varying delayed one. The aim of this paper is to design state feedback sampled-data controller to guarantee that the resulting closed-loop system to be strictly (Q, S, R)-β-dissipative. By constructing appropriate Lyapunov function and employing a delay decomposition approach, a new set of delay-dependent sufficient stabilization criteria is obtained in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Moreover, the obtained LMIs are dependent, not only upon upper bound of time delay but also depend on the dissipative margin β and the actuator fault matrix. As special cases, H∞ and passivity control performances can be deduced from the proposed dissipative control result. Finally, numerical simulation is provided based on a flight control model to verify the effectiveness and applicability of the proposed control scheme. © 2016 by ASME.

In this paper, we investigate the domination number, independent domination number, connected domination number, total domination number denoted by γ(Gn),γi(Gn),γc(Gn,γt(Gn) respectively for 4-regular graphs of n vertices with girth 3. Here, G(n) denotes the 4-regular graphs of n vertices with girth 3. We obtain some exact values of G(n) for these parameters. We further establish that γiGn=γGnforn≥6 and γcGn=γtGn for n ≥ 6. Nordhaus–Gaddum type results are also obtained for these parameters. © 2015, The National Academy of Sciences, India.

In this study the flash pyrolysis of the cotton shell on the electrically heated fluidized bed has been conducted for producing cotton shell pyrolytic oil and with the presence of homogenous acid catalyst the cotton shell pyrolytic oil is converted into biofuel. Cotton shell was procured from resources available in India. The various physical properties such as density, viscosity, flash point and elemental analysis have been done for the bio oil. For the baseline data analysis, the same characteristics study has been carried out on the biofuel and an acceptable agreement is observed. © 2015, The National Academy of Sciences, India.

This project was done in the cement plant of “ACC MADUKKARAI CEMENT WORKS”. In this project we have given the two proposals, which deals with the design and analysis of creep failure in clinker feeding system for clinker handling application and their proper maintenance, which is more suitable for mass production with improved efficiency, less wear and more economic. A automatic clinker feeding system was developed for the existing clinker handling system using solid flow meter and proportional integral derivative controller(PID loop) through the granulometry analysis of clinker. Mild steel and stainless steel, and alloy agent of manganese steel were selected for the existing dispersion plate of V-separator through the study of tribological properties of materials. The total deformation and wear, frictional properties of the selected dispersion plate materials were studied by performing wear consideration test using the analysis software. The investigation was done to find the influence of applied load, feeding speed and sliding distance on wear rate, as well as the coefficient of friction during wearing process. The total deformation results were compared with the existing dispersion plate material. © Research India Publications.
