Well 1 is a well for gas storage, and its liner section penetrated formations with low pressure bearing. This well has a long cementing length and irregular hole sizes. In gas injection and production, the borehole experienced alternate stress and temperature change, which damaged the integrity of cement sheath and further caused annular space to bear pressures. To solve this problem, loss control under pressure, optimization of cement slurry to achieve cementing under balanced pressure, and introduction of DRE cementing slurry were all performed. The set cement of the cement slurry has compressive strength of 16 MPa after 48 hours of thickening, and 28 MPa after 7 days of thickening, elastic modulus of 6.0 GPa measured after 7 days. The φ177.8 mm liner cementing of Well 1 of gas storage Bai-6 was successful using this "High Strength Low Modulus" cement slurry. ©, 2014, North China Petroleum Administration Drilling Technology Research Institute.
