The paper presents a method for calculation of closure pressure on hydraulic fractures on injection wells as a parameter determining the beginning of fracture growth. The method is based on formation stress-strain state modeling in an area close to the fractured wellbore. The model for calculation takes into account the evolution of pressure field caused by exploitation. The results of modelling show good agreement with field data and can be used as a method alternative to field measurements methods, that now-a-days are the basic instrument of closure pressure determination. © B.A., 2014

This paper concentrates on integrated approach to optimization of development of mature fields and on aspects of development of wedge-shaped reservoirs such as major reservoir BS10 of Mamontovskoe field. Localization of wedge zones has been performed as potential areas of the remaining recoverable reserves by the analysis of well works results inside and outside of wedge zones. Integrated approach to analysis and identification wells in such geological conditions has been developed and described, and direct program of well works for production and injection wells is compiled.

When dealing with ultra low-permeability reservoirs, one comes across a certain problem of choosing low cost way of getting reservoir pressure data. Classical well test implies long-lasting shut down of production wells (up to several months) due to low permeability and presence of extended hydraulic fractures. The paper contains examples of surveys carried out using hydrodynamic logging. These tests show significant restrictions of the method applied in low permeability resevoirs. Well pressure based on minifrac test data was evaluated here for ultra low permeability reservoirs. Then the data was then compared with the results of average pressure at hydrodynamic logging. Fracture closure pressure data was used to enrich correlation dependencies for fracture closure pressure (spontaneous growth of fracture) in injection wells using well pressure fall-off curve interpretation methods during minifrac test. Each minifrac test in horizontal wells with multi-stage fracturing was analysed, the results of injection efficiency ratio were gained that are in agreement with production profile according to PLT and allow to test the most productive well influx intervals. Development of low-permeability reservoirs (less than 1 mD) is carried out with intensive flooding. Injection is performed at pressure above the formation fracturing pressure that is why in almost every well a spontaneous growth of (injection) induced fractures takes place. The main problem of pressure transient analysis in a low permeability reservoir with spontaneous fracturing is a long linear regime flow observed in the log-log plot and the absence of a basis to achieve a pseudo-radial flow. To increase the accuracy of well testing in spontaneously fractured injection wells, certain field tests were developed and run. While testing, an injection well with spontaneously induced fractures was shut-in before the bottom-hole pressure went below the fracture closing pressure, then injection resumed for a short period of time, and then the well was shut-in again to record the pressure fall-off curve. The second pressure fall-off curve shows that the pseudo-radial flow developed, because the close of the part of the fracture without proppant occurred. The paper shows field examples of interference well tests exhibiting fracture growth up to 1700 m diagnosed in injection wells. Examples of successful restriction of injection well operation and application of correlation relationships of fracture closing pressure vs. formation pressure to lower water-cut in production wells with water breakthroughs are described. The current paper includes the results of the research project aimed to increase the effectiveness of near-wellbore stimulation treatment technologies at abnormally low and high formation pressures in the region of RN-Yuganskneftegas activity. Potential applicability of different technological solutions is quantified using filtration experiments, the most promising ones are chosen for implementation. The results of pilot field testing conducted as a part of the project approves the efficiency of developed solutions and can help to adjust technologies to the field conditions in the region of RN-Yuganskneftegaz activity.

An overview of water- and emulsion-based wells killing and washing fluids, developed in Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas, is given. The possibility of using the modern brine plant facilities of the FSI International Services Ltd. manufacturing for qualitative process fluids production is shown. A comprehensive solution to the problem of wells killing with low-impact killing fluids and special equipment for their preparation will allow to eliminate the problems associated with trouble-free maintenance work execution and will preserve the recovery wells productivity.

Western Siberian and Volga region oil fields, as a rule, are characterized with low reservoir pressure and exploitation by the method of mechanized extraction, that does not allow to assess the productivity in steady mode of fluid output (extraction) (flow rate), that is easily implemented in gushing wells. That's why geophysical surveys (GS) are performed in overhaul periods, after stopping the well and extraction borehole equipment. In that case, is sufficiently disrupted work mode of well and reservoir, depression and flow rate created with GS does not correspond to the operating mode. Increasing the number of horizontal wells shows the urgency of the problem of assessing the efficiency of the multistage hydraulic fracturing. To eliminate these restrictions can be applied the technology of ESP bypasses (Y-Tool), where the borehole equipment is delivered on the CT below the depth of descent pump in horizontal wellbore interval.
