On the core of Rosneft Oil Company's license areas in Irkutsk Region and Krasnoyarsk Krai there has been performed a wide range of operations for providing petrophysical support of nuclear magnetic logging data interpretation for Vendian and Lower Cambrian carbonate reservoirs, however there is still a number of uncertainties while interpretation of the method. The paper introduces a solution of one of such uncertainties, which is a study of mixture of formation water and drilling fluid filtrate nuclear magnetic resonance properties in the void space of core samples. © B.A., 2014 Source

The research subject is a productivity characteristics prediction of carbonate fractured oil reservoirs. Authors suggested to cope with the issue by means of building a hybrid fractures geomodel incorporating integrated geological-geophysical information of different scales. The key role in the proposed methodology play wire-line well logs (microscaners, wide-spaced acoustic) and 3D seismic survey. Several practical examples of the methodology implementation on one of Eastern Siberian fields are demonstrated. Authors found out quite interesting correlations between well data and seismic information, that allowed not only maximize the seismic survey implementation effectiveness, but also, as a consequence, to reduce uncertainties. Full scale geological model was built, including the fracture model. The following parameters were forecasted: fractured porosity, permeability tensor. Those parameters were incorporated into the hydrodynamic modeling process. Finally, relevant case studies were analyzed and the research continuation strategy developed. Source

Oil and gas production in the high northern latitudes is a top priority tor the oil and gas industry. At the same time, this trend has a number of problems both dependent and independent of man. For example, extreme temperatures, weather conditions, the vulnerability of the environment, the lack of infrastructure, the duration of the polar night, the emergency situation. It can be assumed that the effects of emergencies (loss of life, environmental damage, etc.) as a result of the above problems may be more severe in the Arctic. Independent predictors (low temperature environment vulnerability, etc.) are difficult to minimize. Therefore, to increase the level of security or to reduce the risk of a more efficient method would be a reduction in the likelihood of accidents, prevention of emergency situations. Thus, there is a need to improve the interaction between risk assessment and life cycle of oil and gas production facilities in the Arctic shelf. Copyright 2013, Society of Petroleum Engineers. The compound structure of carbonate reservoirs in Eastern Siberia prevents the forecast of zone of improved reservoir and complicates the exploration of new areas. The industrial-productive complexes of Vendian-lower- Cambrian age in a section of the Nepsko-Botuobinskaya anticlise (NBA) attract more and more researchers. In this work erbogachenskiy and preobrazhenskiy horizons confine to the oil and gas complex of the Vendian are covered. Sections of 10 wells licensed areas of Rosneft in the Irkutsk region are studied. A detailed lithofacies characteristic of deposits was carried out, the influence epi-and diagenetic processes on reservoir properties of rocks was leaded. On the base of complex research of physical composition of reservoir it was attempted to bind the features of the void volume of reservoir to conditions of their formation. © C.K., 2014 Source

The results of experimental and analytical studies of changes of fracture permeability samples Yurubcheno-Tokhomskoye gas field under the influence of effective stress are presented. The purpose was to study the changes of fracture permeability due to increasing and decreasing effective stress, in other words due to depletion and waterflood treatments. Processing of the results of the experiment carried out on the basis of geomechanical model crack Barton-Bandisa. In result the laws of variation of fracture permeability in loading and unloading of samples and reduce the estimate of filtration properties of the rock mass. It is shown that the use of the law to reduce the resulting permeability and recovery is possible with the information on the distribution of cracks in the array and their disclosure. This information can be obtained by using modern methods of geophysics and geomechanics. Source
