In order to establish excavation 3D model simpler, more quickly, more efficient, more accurately, more directly and to realize 3D displaying of the design results, a 3D excavation software for parametric modeling and dynamic displaying is developed. The functions, architecture, key technology, difficulties, countermeasures and realization process of this software are introduced. Meanwhile, application of the software to the excavation of CCTV verifies the feasibility and practicality. The results show that this study has important theoretical significance and application value.

Application of the automatic wind catcher in the immersed tunnel was studied in this work. The results show that: the best design size is suggested as ε=3 for conical flaring based on comparative analysis, and the cost of operation ventilation may be saved by using the automatic wind-catching device in tunnel. Provided that one hundred automatic wind-catching devices are utilized in the tunnel, when the natural wind speed is 6.6 m/s, the energy saving is 26.8%, while when the natural wind speed is 10.8 m/s, the energy saving may be increased to be 40.2%.

Typical points are selected on Ganmo Highway, the only bidirectional four-lane highway of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps (hereinafter referred to as "Xinjiang Corps"), so as to measure the speeds of vehicles on the overtaking lane and corresponding inside clearances. The relationship between the inside clearances and speeds of different types of vehicles is studied by mathematical statistics so as to establish a model of the relationship between inside clearances and speeds. Based on the collision deformation of different barrier types and the demand for the actual functions of the central strip, how to select the width of the central strip and the barrier type of the arterial highway of Xinjiang Corps is analyzed. According to the results, there is a linear relationship between inside clearances and speeds of vehicles; monolithic concrete barriers require a small width of the central strip and they are cheap on the whole and suitable for the corps area. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Design reuse is becoming a widely accepted strategy to meet the increasingly fierce competition in product development. This paper presents a new approach to design reuse based on the decomposition of design processes. In this approach, the basic reusable template, design process unit (DPU), is developed by decomposing the design process, which has four important characteristics: reusability, hierarchical decomposition and composition, domain independence, and decision-centric with well-defined inputs and outputs. Then the criteria of process decomposition and the scale of design process reuse are established, respectively. Based on the methodology above, a multi-tier, three-phase reuse architecture with effective DPU retrieval is presented. Experimental results show that this approach greatly facilitates DPU reuse and is a worthwhile exploration of design reuse. © 2012 Copyright Taylor and Francis Group, LLC.

In order to deeply discuss the safety of highway tunnel lining structure under shallow burial, large span, bias and other complex conditions, combined with special geological conditions, such as shallow-buried bias, slop sliding, fracture zone in left line outlet of Wolonggang Tunnel, authors analyzed the safety problem of tunnel structure in detail which probably appeared in construction period. Through analyzing the stability of surrounding rock deformation, the stability of the slope and the tunnel lining stress, the safety of tunnel lining was comprehensively evaluated. The results show that the surrounding rock displacement of Wolonggang Tunnel is smooth and steady. The slope is stable and the tunnel outlet is safe. The evaluated result provides beneficial references for later operation of tunnel.
