In this study, die profiles of the rod extrusion processes are optimised to produce products of desirable microstructure at maximum production speed and minimum left out material in the die. The design problem is formulated as a non-linear programming problem which is solved using genetic algorithm. Selection of the processing parameters is carried out using dynamic material modelling. Content Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) is currently a very important area of research in multimedia technology. Plenty of research works had been undertaken in past decade to design efficient image retrieval techniques from image database. Although large numbers of indexing and retrieval techniques have been developed, there are still no universally accepted feature extraction, indexing and retrieval techniques available. The main problem of the common CBIR system faces is that when the system is serving as an interface to an image collection, which covers many different topics. The problem of missing semantically information about the images leads to great numbers of false matches because of misleading similarities in the visual primitives that are retrieved. Which is called as semantic gap. This paper introduces an approach that tries to reduce the number of false matches in query result sets. It relies heavily on user feedback on retrieval results. This can be used as an independent system or as an interface to already existing CBIR system. Copyright 2010 ACM. Source

Reactive routing protocols are better options for the communication in ad hoc network. In this study, a novel approach for local link repairing of ad hoc on demand routing protocol is suggested for the performance enhancement of the basic protocol. Alternate route finding for next-to-next node in case of link breakage is a better option of route management. These protocols are beacon-less to improve bandwidth utilisation. Control overheads have been reduced by using 802.11b protocol to maintain connectivity of moving nodes. Significant improvement is observed in the Quality of service parameters like throughput, endto- end delay, packet delivery ratio and link breakage through simulations. © 2014 The Institution of Engineering and Technology. This paper presents the design of an analog CMOS Gilbert cell Mixer for RF Receiver front end application. Input RF frequency of the mixer is 2.4GHz and operated at 1.8V power supply. The schematic has been implemented using UMC-180nm CMOS technology and simulated on spectre-RF simulator of Cadence. The input RF and LO frequency of the proposed mixer is 2.4GHz and 2.25GHz respectively, resulting in an output IF frequency of 250MHz. It achieves a conversion Gain of around 13dB and considerable NF. IIP3 and 1-db Compression point are also measured. Layout design and extracted view of the mixer is also presented in this paper. © 2015 IEEE. Source

The perspective of this paper represents all types of correlation existing among the various renewable power sources in the hybrid system to find out its feasibility. Among the different energy alternatives available, the wind energy system clubbed with solar photo voltaic panels and biomass gasifier for the production of electricity is found more suitable. As wind, solar and biomass hybrid energy systems stand out distinctly for their use in tropical regions. Keeping this in view a statistical correlation analysis of the said hybrid energy system has been evolved for a remote area (wind and solar data of which are collected from weather monitoring station installed at University Institute of Technology, Bhopal, India). © Springer-Verlag 2009.
