We present 56 cases of food-induced anaphylaxis occurring in schools and reported to the allergovigilance network between 2005 and 2015. We deplore the fact that 2 children died in spite of the administration of auto-injectable adrenaline. The clinical characteristics and the circumstances of the anaphylaxis (where it occurred, the nature of the allergen, the management of the anaphylaxis, whether the allergy was known or not known, any error in the management, any risks that might have been taken, etc.) were analyzed with the purpose of preventing such accidents in the future: we recommend the use of the Projet d'accueil individualisé (PAI) (i.e. a management project at school for each allergic patient) in the schools, additional therapeutic education to avoid errors in the management of such cases, the importance of a rapid recourse to the management of such cases, and working together with the personnel responsible for the school's cafeteria. © 2015.
